Part of the problem with our programs the past several years is that they have a great performance and have peaked the interest of the fans, but they subsequently can't capitalize on that and sustain any momentum going forward. Hopefully this is different, but just look at many of the game threads from one game to the next, and you get optimism, then it turns to pessimism shortly thereafter. 5 Quote

So yes and no. money was 100% an issue. from what i hear there were talks and he was high on the list but he wanted too much money. looks like he is making about 100k more than sather which i think would be worth it but it's not my money i guess. Same problem as the football program. Quote
Clark17 Posted December 19 Posted December 19 Not a BB guy but happened to catch it right before it started while channel surfing. That was a lot of fun to watch. 1 Quote

Old Titan Posted December 19 Posted December 19 Congrats on putting on what appeared (on TV at least) to be a great event. It made UND and the Summit look great! Apologies if this has already been covered elsewhere, but was the contract between the two schools strictly a "2-for-1" deal, with two roadies in the future at Bama? No money changing hands at all for travel expenses, or any "guarantee money" for either school? If so, a rarity these days - well done!! Quote

Old Titan Posted December 19 Posted December 19 8 minutes ago, gfhockey said: We get $30k per trip Sounds fairly standard for a good old-fashioned "home-and-home" series like we used to see back in the day (though $30K will hardly pay for a roundtrip charter flight, hotel and meals for a traveling party of 40-to-50 people). I'm guessing Bama got something similar from UND for this trip? Part of my reason for asking is that the networks sometimes get involved financially in marquee match-ups between heavyweights in the power conferences, But with this game being on the CBS Sports Network, one of the minor "national" platforms, I kinda doubted they were ponying up any money for either school for this one. Is that accurate? Quote
Oxbow6 Posted December 19 Posted December 19 In the first half Bama looked like a noon ball pickup team at the Slop in the late 80s. Quote
