The kid appears to be a very athletic QB with starting experience at SDSU. The day of the “pocket” qb is fading (there are certainly exceptions) but the dual threat guys force defenses to alter their game plan.
I would be happy with another guy like Quincy on the roster just not at QB.

I don’t think guy coming here to play te and hold kicks on fg trys

quincy is a great ambassador. Without him we don’t get blue chippa emery whoms development has stalled a bit but none the less id have ten Quincy kids on my team vs one blue chippa

probalem not many kids like Quincy out there

Questions I have with this new QB is if he was recruited by these top FBS schools why pick San Diego State and then if the QB1 position is yours for the taking why transfer down to an average FCS program?   These types of transfers don't always pan out.  I remember NDSU a few years back got a kid from VA Tech that was a dumpster fire.   Hoping he isn't Quincy Vaughn 2.0.

I'd be thrilled to get another Quincy Vaughn.  Student athlete that was a credit to his team and community.  Team player all the way; did whatever he could to help the team when he didn't win the starting QB position.  Wish he had another year of eligibility.

The student who ran the sack city sign for us the three years before this one was good friends with Q.  Made his own Q shirt by drawing on a white tank top T.  He even came back for senior day this year just for Q.

I asked how he knew him and he said they lived next to each other and Q came over and introduced himself and is a helluva guy.  They've been friends ever since.

I had the opportunity to meet Q recently and echo everything said. Might be the nicest guy I ever met.

I am sure Quincy is a great kid.  How many W's did he bring to the football program, not very many and his stat line is non existent.   My point was I hope this new QB brings more than being a nice guy.  Nice guys finish last just ask Bubba.

He still played his role. I think we will miss 3rd and 4th and short being so automatic.

Holy !@#$, Christmas going that bad for you?

Nope it has been off the charts.  I look at the goalie position at UND that has been relegated to a portal goalie every year and has turned into a dumpster fire.  I don't like filling the most important position with a transfer.   This program is in a rebuild mold get a young QB and groom them.  I hate to say it but look at the successful QBs at NDSU they come from recruiting not the portal.

After 15+ years of (mostly) disappointing results, people are understandably cynical about the program. I think Schmidt will be different (a lot different), but it will take time for him to put his stamp on this team.

Even they have used transfers in recent years.  Step away from the ledge.

Schmidt has to use the portal to upgrade the talent level of the team. That will lead to better outcomes on game day and make it easier to recruit better players and athletes.

If you hate to say it, then don’t say it. You can turnaround a program in 1-2 seasons nowadays.

NDSU has an advantage with just high school recruiting and development, as they’ve been winning championships for so dang long.  Now, though, you have to be able to do both - recruit and develop, but also utilize the portal. It’s because the good ones will leave. Nothing wrong with recruiting pure talent, even if it is not directly from high school. Winners win. The work works. Get it done. Stop crying and just do it. Time to start winning here at UND, and bout damn time to put football on a pedestal (been a thing coming the past few years with the new facilities pending). Let’s go
