There are no easy games to point to this season.  The Clowns are smelling blood in the water; just hope we can get a split at this point.  Somebody mentioned playing a full 60 minutes...haven't really seen that in a while.  Happy Tuesday!

If you’re going to have a backup, it might as well be Gavin Enright because he’s no slouch and has a good possibility of having a solid series against us. The thing about St. Cloud this year is that I’m not so sure they need a world-stopper in net because they play such good team defense.
Thats an area where Larson seems to excel and it’s the opposite of where we’re at right now. The forwards and D are going to have to figure it out because Each week Schloss makes it seem less likely that Zmolek won’t be playing this season and even if he does it won’t be until very late in the year.

I am already assuming Zmolek is done for the season. However, we need to get the others back after the break if we want to salvage the season.

Why move him when he’s having such a productive season so far? (Ahem, Sarcasm emoji)

I was wondering the same thing, though.  We all know his history is big numbers at the college level at center but it’s not happening here.  He either needs a change in position or to hang out on an energy line for a while to see if that sparks something. Having him in a top-6 scoring role is holding back the whole team 5x5 and that won’t fly against Clown. He seems defensively reliable and is good in our own end which is probably why they keep him at center but he might need a little change up.

I’m also not expecting Zmolek back this season. I’ve been hearing that for weeks from other fans so that seems to be what a lot of people think also. If he comes back I will consider it a nice surprise.

Is Zmolek the new Jake Sanderson? We can’t seem to keep the defensemen that are the most crucial for our success in the lineup.

It’s weird because he looks the part. Big, can skate, attempts fairly skilled plays. But absolutely nothing translates. I’m assuming he doesn’t “see it” very well. NCHC isn’t AH.

im hearing rumblings that he may be done forever...old injury that may be forcing him to retire from hockey

If they don't, UND will have 7 D for the second half, & if one of the 6 primary D gets injured, that means Komzak or Montgomery plays. Not sure that’s a good idea for a team on the outside looking in trying to make the playoffs. Cross your fingers & hope no one gets injured on the backend.
