Wilbur Posted November 21 Posted November 21 Tough that this will be the last time we see Belquist and Q on the field for UND. Wish the staff would of figured out more ways to effectively use Q in the offense, but that has kind of been the echo board for a number of years with UND football. If losing means a regime change then so be it. 2 Quote
AJS Posted November 21 Posted November 21 Losing 5 in a row to end the season seemed like a Mt. Everest type of challenge. I still very much have my doubts that it can happen. Even for Bubba, this would be quite the accomplishment. Loss by loss! Nap by nap! 4 Quote

F'n Hawks Posted November 21 Posted November 21 We will definitely take for granted how automatic 3rd and short and 4th and short has been these last couple of years. 3 Quote
Sioux27 Posted November 21 Posted November 21 I'll never cheer against UND. This last game will have no impact on Bubba's future win or lose. That ship has sailed....unfortunately none of us have a clue what the destination is at this point. I doubt we win but I'll still be cheering them on!! 2 Quote

Q is a dude.. he found a role on the team and crushed it.. short yardage.. 3rd or 4th and less than 2. I absolutely loved seeing him trot out there and take the other teams soul. That TD catch last week was a highlight. 3 Quote

Everyone knew what was going to happen and it seemed to always work. I'm curious if there is a stat out there somewhere on how many short yardage attempts by Q and the success rate. I'm far to lazy to look up the play-by-play stats for each game. Quote

Excluding the fake punt against the bison, which was a full 2 yards if I remember correctly, I can’t remember many times that it failed. Quote

It won’t do the future of the program any good to lose. So this game is basically irrelevant in regards to the future of the program? If Bubba is still head coach in 2025, win or lose, then winning on Saturday isn’t going to help the future of the program either. You say losing won’t do the program any good, but most on here are not in agreement with your almighty wisdom. What a petty athletic department that UND has, no championship expectations or ability; but I guess if that’s the new reality, then better settle in … 1 2 Quote
UND Football Fan Posted November 22 Posted November 22 What I do wish is the Head Coach says this is his last game as a coach and the team plays hard for the seniors and coach. The team convincingly wins giving hope for the future and Bubba finishes with that road win over a ranked team. 2 Quote

How fitting would a road win against a ranked team be for Bubbas last game as coach? 1 Quote
Wilbur Posted November 22 Posted November 22 This is gonna end up just like my Twins where the hitting coach (defensive coordinator) and a few other coaches get axed for the good of the cause while Rocco (Bubba) vows change and a better outcome next season. Then the GM (Chaves) comes out with his full support for the head coach. I really can't connect the Pohlads to anything, at least they are selling the team.... 2 Quote

Try reading the post again. I said “I don’t think” (just my opinion) that it will matter one way or the other with regards to Bubba’s future. That means I believe the decision has been made and the results Saturday won’t change the decision. I said it won’t do the program any good to lose. You may be ok with losing, but fortunately, you aren’t playing. Maybe you should self reflect a bit to see who thinks they have all of the answers. I have stated on a number of occasions that my opinion is just that and no more important than anyone else’s. It’s ok if “most here” disagree with my opinion. You all may be correct. I certainly have a different perspective based on my experiences. Others opine based on their experiences. Who cares if we disagree? 7 Quote
