Popular Post Wilbur Posted November 11 Popular Post Posted November 11 In comes the defending champs, currently in last place in the NCHC I might add, but leading PWR and ranked #1. Don't give me that they haven't played an NCHC game yet, they are in last place okay. A lot of interesting stats to point out with this group. They haven't given up more than two goals in a game, they've given up 13 goals in 10 games, their goalies are both above a 94% save percentage, and below a 1.3 GAA. They've got 13 guys that are going at a half point a game rate, and 6 guys that are over a point per game rate (UND has two if you care). You can argue they haven't played any blue bloods yet, but impressive stats no less. Devine, Harris, King, Thompson, pretty deep up front. Buium could be playing in the NHL in April, and Matt Davis some how came out of nowhere and turned in one of the best goaltending performances the NCAA tournament has ever seen.....and I lived through Alfie Michaud and Maine. Looking at their schedule they haven't played a schedule like North Dakota, but they've still played a Wisconsin and Northeastern, so not exactly the cupcakes of college hockey. I think this series could remind you a lot of the BU series. I don't think they've played a team the likes of North Dakota, so the first period on Friday may catch the pios off guard a bit as it did the BU Terriers and before they knew it, it was 5-0. They are very well coached, and national championship caliber for sure. At the same time, they did get swept once last season while they were playing pretty good hockey by North Dakota at REA in late January. A split is a must. A sweep may help @fightingsioux4life get through his kidney stones.......get swept, he may get more. I'd assume in TJ we trust in the net. Probably the NCHC goaltender of the week. Happy Veterans Day to those who served! And a huge thank you for your service! 1 9 Quote
The Sicatoka Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Say what you will about DU's schedule to date, but one disregards Lindenwood at their own peril. They put up the best fight so far against DU. 1 Quote
burd Posted November 11 Posted November 11 No way Berry’s Bunglers beat a Carle-coached team unless Carle intentionally loses so his team doesn’t win the dreaded Penrose Cup. 2 Quote
.357 Posted November 11 Posted November 11 And here I thought they wouldn't be as dominant this year considering that they had some important cogs leave last spring to a higher level of coggery. But still, they haven't had anywhere near the injuries UND has had & their schedule so far has been underwhelming. UND almost always has a bullseye on their back regardless of whom they're playing - except next weekend. Will be nice for a change. Can imagine Denver will have everyone gunning after them this year, wanting to pump up their PWR with a win over them. Best chance for a win may be Friday, because they may not yet be accustomed to a lot of pace ... if UND can bring it. At minimum, a split, & put every ounce of energy into Friday night to ensure that happens. 1 Quote
cberkas Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Hope for a split. Probably end up getting a loser point in OT or shootout. Quote

brianvf Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Gonna be a tough series. DU is playing some solid hockey. Hopefully we can get a split...their SOS is considerably weaker than ours, so hoping that those tough earlier series can help. Quote
Popular Post fightingsioux4life Posted November 11 Popular Post Posted November 11 I am happy to report to @Wilbur and everyone else that my post-surgical stent comes out tomorrow and I should be back in my seat in REA this weekend. Thank you all for the well-wishes over the past several weeks. 3 16 Quote
thUNDer Posted November 11 Posted November 11 So if the good guys choose to wear either the business suits or kelly greens, would that spare us from the Pios catsup & mustard sweaters? Asking or a friend. 3 Quote

Just keep it to yourself, though, if you start crapping in your Sioux underwear uncontrollably. ; ) The boys will need your + vibes this weekend. 1 Quote

TwamleyShuffle Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Having the last line change could be very influential this week. Though DU has more than one line that lights the lamp, being able to put our shutdown line on the Devine line may be a key part of the team being successful 4 Quote

farce poobah Posted November 12 Posted November 12 I read the first part of the thread title "top team in the country"... and Colorado College came to mind. Then I read the rest of the thread title. (Nice to have unbeaten CC back in those conversations.) 3 Quote

scpa0305 Posted November 12 Posted November 12 We’ll sneak out the first game and drop a tough game 2 Quote
burd Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Tuesday. Still 3 more days to believe DU can be beaten by a sorry bunch of grindahs who don't know how to play a full 60. 1 Quote
