Somebody correct me if I am wrong but there wasn't a buyout involved with Bubba as he stepped down to a new created position which was a pay cut for him. Quote

The point is that nobody saw that coming. I was shocked that they actually did it. Quote

Big A HG Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Anyone ever see the Bleacher Creature and Brad Berry in the same place at the same time? Quote

cberkas Posted February 15 Posted February 15 I couldn't believe my eyes a gopher fan said to fire Berry Quote
cberkas Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Berry wouldn't have lasted in the old WCHA, he'd be on the road 1st round and out every year. Quote
MGsioux Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Berry is the worst coach in the hsitory of the program. Fire him or lose all your fans UND. What a mess ..... Quote

I'm seeing and hearing this in Western NoDak where the youth hockey kids are turning away from and no longer care about UND hockey. It will take years to repair the damage that Brad Berry has done. firebradberry.com Quote
Prison_Mike Posted February 15 Posted February 15 What is this Berry’s third time missing a regional tournament that was held in Fargo? I believe UND also hosted the 2018 tournament in Sioux Falls that Berry missed. Making only 2 of 6 NCAA tournaments that your school hosts is absolutely crazy. What a s*** show. Quote
1972 Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Saw a student over on FB complaining about Berry, and they got told to give there tix to real fans. When are these nut tuggers gonna finally wake up and see this program and Berry for what it is? Some of the dumbest "fans" in hockey 1 Quote

UND will not be eating over $400k especially with all the budget issues at hand. How much revenue does a home playoff series bring? We are potentially going on the road in 2 of the past 3 seasons. How does that compare to the money needed for a buyout? Not a good trend. Spend money to save money? 2 Quote

Years ago, a full building each night after paying staff etc. was about 300,000 dollars in revenue. I imagine that number has only increased. Quote

AJS Posted February 15 Posted February 15 I think the most likely scenario is Berry steps down after this year and becomes an assistant coach at some level (NHL, AHL). Makes sense on every level for Brad. Clearly, also the best case scenario for the university / program. 1 1 Quote

Popular Post UND1983 Posted February 15 Popular Post Posted February 15 How bad of a coach do you have to be to not win consistently at UND? We now have our answer. And maybe stop the hockey inbreeding at coach also. It’s not doing much good 6 Quote
brucespook Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Times have passed him and Sandelin by. If they continue both programs are destined to mediocrity Quote

All Chaves has to do to make this a reality is inform Berry next week that his contract will not be extended, regardless of results next year. Next year will be his final year coaching at the University of North Dakota. Thank you, but we’re going a different direction at the end of next year. No maybe’s, no ifs. Too easy, @gfhockey, let’s pass this along. 1 Quote
