People said the same thing about Bubba a few months ago.

Somebody correct me if I am wrong but there wasn't a buyout involved with Bubba as he stepped down to a new created position which was a pay cut for him.

The point is that nobody saw that coming. I was shocked that they actually did it.

The whole Nodak thing is a much bigger story than what the useless media portrayed.  That alone should have put Berry on the hot seat.

Yeah, that whole thing kinda got swept under the rug.

Anyone ever see the Bleacher Creature and Brad Berry in the same place at the same time?

Berry is the worst coach in the hsitory of the program.  Fire him or lose all your fans UND.  What a mess .....

Yup. I'm seeing and hearing this in Western NoDak where the youth hockey kids are turning away from and no longer care about UND hockey. It will take years to repair the damage that Brad Berry has done.    firebradberry.com

What is this Berry’s third time missing a regional tournament that was held in Fargo? I believe UND also hosted the 2018 tournament in Sioux Falls that Berry missed. Making only 2 of 6 NCAA tournaments that your school hosts is absolutely crazy. What a s*** show.

Saw a student over on FB complaining about Berry, and they got told to give there tix to real fans.  When are these nut tuggers gonna finally wake up and see this program and Berry for what it is?  Some of the dumbest "fans" in hockey

Unless a donor steps up to cover part or all of the buyout this is all noise.  UND will not be eating over $400k especially with all the budget issues at hand.

How much revenue does a home playoff series bring?   We are potentially going on the road in 2 of the past 3 seasons. How does that compare to the money needed for a buyout?

Not a good trend. Spend money to save money?

I would bet if Chaves was trying to find money for a buy out he could.

Years ago, a full building each night after paying staff etc. was about 300,000 dollars in revenue.  I imagine that number has only increased.

So a potential 3 game series losses out on a potential $1mil in revenue?  I would say we can't afford to keep Berry, if that's the case

I think the most likely scenario is Berry steps down after this year and becomes an assistant coach at some level (NHL, AHL). Makes sense on every level for Brad. Clearly, also the best case scenario for the university / program.

All Chaves has to do to make this a reality is inform Berry next week that his contract will not be extended, regardless of results next year. Next year will be his final year coaching at the University of North Dakota. Thank you, but we’re going a different direction at the end of next year. No maybe’s, no ifs.

Too easy, @gfhockey, let’s pass this along.
