Popular Post Wilbur Posted January 13, 2024 Popular Post Posted January 13, 2024 They said that our guy pushed the player into our goalie outside the blue paint. Can't change the call now. But you blew a two goal lead to the 7th place team in the league. Bear down and win the game in regulation like good teams do. 6 Quote
Godsmack Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 Penalties on Wiebe and Perron were inexcusable. Lazy penalties that led to two goals. 2 Quote
Popular Post SiouxScore Posted January 13, 2024 Popular Post Posted January 13, 2024 So many bad gaps, turnovers, and just DZ breakdowns. Ludvig wasn’t real sharp either. This team has to lock in here and start taking care of business against bad times. Things aren’t trending well right now. 1 4 Quote
Username Taken Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 Keep pissing games away and they’ll find themselves out of the hunt in the NCHC and on the bubble for the big show. We are a ways from panic mode but gotta find a way to start winning the close ones. 1 Quote

Oldguy Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 I want to believe Persson is going to be great, but looking at his record, he starts strong and finishes weak. This season, not looking any different. However, he is not the problem. Poor focus and execution is the reason they lost tonight. Must have more jump tomorrow. Quote

Kab Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 If this was football or basketball the coaches head would be called for , I’m not calling for that, just saying I think this UND team is just average and doesn’t play with much urgency 1 Quote
tnt Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 Got a point out of it, and within 3 of St. Cloud, so not all is lost. We haven’t lost in regulation since BU and people are nothing but negative. Same people, as always. 1 1 Quote
Kab Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 They always say you need to play a full 60 minutes, I guess this team needs to play a full 65 minutes 1 Quote
Oldguy Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 You can attack posters on here as if they are somehow the problem, but I for one care about the program first. When I see a game where one team CLEARLY wanted it worse than the other, it bothers me. Hard work beats skill when skill does not work hard. Exactly tonight. 3 Quote
rochsioux Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 Persson needs to get back to how he played the first 10 games or so. He has not looked like a championship goalie for a while now. Our 3x3 play has been horrendous. If it’s one game it’s on the players but this has happened numerous times and that is on the coaches. Why Berg decided to shoot a poor quality chance on a 1 on 2 is beyond comprehension. They don’t seem to understand the concept of 3 on 3 and the value of puck possession. To lose a two goal lead to a team of UNO’s caliber is pathetic. This team has not been getting better as the season goes and that is on the coaching staff. Quote

This isn’t a goalieman issue. But those people are told that the standard is .900, so it shouldn’t matter if some of those are impossible to save. UND was winning consistently when denying the cross ice pass and at least giving Persson a chance to save it. 2 Quote
dden3 Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 When it gets tough out there our go to breakout play is flipping it up to center ice and chasing it. Even on the 3 on 3. Incredible. 1 Quote

Omaha was/is in a somewhat similar desperate situation as Alaska in that they’re 23rd pairwise coming into the weekend so securing some wins against UND, Denver, and St. Cloud these next three weeks will really help boost them in that regard. Unlike Alaska, Omaha has several games against teams ranked higher than them. They stuck to it and played with some desperation and tenacity. 1 Quote
cowboys5xsbs Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 Defense was good to start the year and has regressed badly. That's where alot of our problems are right now. You'd think the defensive core would start gelling but they look worse every week. 2 Quote

UND needed a 93.5% out of its goalie to win its last National Championship. This team will do down as many other UND teams did. But just not as special as the 2016 one. Quote
tnt Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 Denver, must be a horrible team, losing to Omaha in regulation at home, as well as us, then needing o.t. to beat us. 1 Quote

Don't want to get into anything with any fan (not my thing). What my eyes did see tonight, though, was opportunistic execution whenever Omaha saw any little opening, almost without falter. On the flip side, I saw a lot of outside shots, with no net front, that were low percentage. 3 Quote

Opportunistic isn’t a term I would use for a team who totally outworked the other. Quote
ND1 Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 I can’t believe I put $100 for UND to cover -1.5 Quote

They don’t have the recruiting power for various reasons, but are relatively solid sans the ‘flash’. They lack the scoring threat of a UND or Denver, but make up for it with tenacity. Sometimes, that’s not enough, but tonight it was Quote
