What will our lineup look like this weekend?

I am going to predict it will look like this.

Hain        Adams         Gaber

Budy       Weatherby   Caulfield

Blaisdell   Senden        Keane

Ness        Jamernik      Rieger

Albrecht

JBD       Kierstad

Kleven   Sanderson

Frisch    Moore

Thome

I agree.  Any guy with a hint of an injury you leave behind in Grand Forks.  I give Thome this Friday, and then get Scheel back in there next Friday even though its the senior night game.  Can't have our number one go two weeks without playing a game.

I'd put Keane with Jammer and Rieger and let those guys play against Abate's line as much as possible.

No Kawaguchi?

Or Pinto?

Gooch is a bit dinged up as he didn't play in the third period when UND was up by a lot.  Not sure about Pinto, I'm sure if he's 100% he plays.

I believe that he will give limited time to his top players.

I'm putting in Albrecht before Rieger.

I have some fears about this game........not just losing it.

Do you not trust Mike Gabinet?

Figured I'd start a thread since we were talking Omaha stuff in the 20-21 thread.

Personally, I think we play all of our horses this week. Maybe consider sitting some next week, but we need to stay hot, IMO.

That, or start Albrecht and have him break someone's clavicle ;)

Yeah, I’m good with either playing everyone or resting a couple. I think we can beat Omaha without a couple guys, so whatever Berry wants to do.

Omaha should have a pretty high level of desperation in their game as they’re sitting kinda low in the upper echelon of the rankings. A win or two against us would serve them well to solidify a tournament spot. That said, there’s still a lot on the line for UND as well, like a potential #1 seed. Not to mention, pride, which UND teams always have a lot of.

I wouldn't rest a player, unless they absolutely needed it. Omaha would be dumb to take any runs at players especially when they haven't made it out of the first round yet, and they lose these next three games they could miss the NCAA's yet again (The Blais Curse).

Gabinet:  We need a really stupid and futile gesture to be done on someone's part.

Abate:  We're just the guys to do it!  Who's with me?

After Saturday's ... ahem ... events, the NCAA will be watching from a multitude of perspectives.

Both teams know that.

And there's more to lose than gain ... for BOTH teams ... by letting emotions get the best of them.

Heck, even the game officials know they're being watched.

#1 seed is a big deal.  Imagine having last change all the way to Pittsburgh.

It would be F’N Fantastic. I don’t think after what transpired last weekend they’re going to put in a half assed effort against the Mavericks.

The biggest reason for why the top players play tomorrow and next Friday is retaining the number 1 ranking.

Definitely. I'm sure our boys are being told that we have absolutely nothing to gain by punching Joey Abate in the face multiple times.

An Omaha perspective on why the Mavs are where they are,and why they have a chance tomorrow, and a big chance in the postseason. https://seamoresports.com/2021/02/25/omaha-hockey-efficiency-is-everything/

Mavs have a good team but their response to getting crushed on Saturday is to slash our 4th line center and start some shenanigans at the end of the game?  Pretty weak.
