People wanted change just for change, sadly, Obama didn't do much along with his VP (Biden) in 8 years. Obama was a puppet speaker with not much action that won over the college demographic that era. Still can't believe after Hilary's debacle in 2016, Joe Biden is the best person the Dems could get. Well, let's be honest, Obama and his cronies helped Joe become the front runner during the end of the primaries. You can love or hate Trump, that's fine, but Joe Biden while wearing a neutral lens is a pathetic candidate too. Despite being a senile fossil, Biden was the safe choice. Unlike Bernie or whoever, Biden can still appeal to left-leaning republicans in a time of immense polarization. Even if people may not like his policies, he's a known entity for voters who are fed up with the Trump circus. Notice how the right-wing's "socialist" label isn’t sticking to him, they're going after Harris with that.

So the recent mask mandate in Fargo isn’t working?? This is the exact thing D’s try to pick trump apart for but in reverse. You know someone who is following the rules but no one else is. I can tell you actually being in Fargo that nearly everywhere you go people are wearing masks. Nearly every business is now requiring it. Your not going to name the business so no one can prove you wrong but others in here from Fargo will likely agree, not many places not wearing masks now. I wish your brother a healthy and full recovery.

Bernie has a dedicated minority following in the party with no real route to increasing support. But his presence snuffed out any other more realistic liberal candidate. I personally wish Sherrod Brown would have run, but Biden will do for four years.

But high turnout is mitigating that. But yea, Trump losing parts of the senior demographic is a serious problem too. So if you are going to believe polling national polling Trump is polling around 25%-30% minority vote nationally and even higher in FL. That certainly does equate to an advantage when he was around 8% in 2016. There is a reason the D’s rely so heavily on the minority vote. Only 70% could make things interesting. We know all about masks and we even have doctors and hospitals with running water. Thank you for your concern. From UND to the coastal elite. Right, but minority turnout (especially blacks) was exceedingly low in 2016. Trump even admitted low black turnout benefited him. Adding a huge demographic at record numbers into the equation when you only have, at best, 25-30% of its support is a net disadvantage.

I can see eventual infighting with the moderate and progressive wing of the Democratic Party. The progressives will demand more radical social change and be held back by a coalition of moderate democrats and Republicans. I think some meaningful legislation will be passed and signed into law before this happens. I can also see a battle between the remaining Trumpistas and moderate Republicans happening immediately after the election. Then as things settle down and when we are cruising along with the economy pumping along and little social unrest, here comes another right wing nut job to screw it all up again.
wxman91
Pew poll from a couple weeks ago. Very similar to 2016. I think it might be more accurate to say that Trump hasn’t lost ground with minorities like he has with White voters.
