Howd that one turn out?... i was under the stands getting ready for a beer league skate and it sounded like some thunderstorm ... it was rocking up there... sadly few stayed to witness the old man greatness in the other rink.

Beavers won 5-1. Lots of ejections....late hits.....reffs lost control early.

what a killer last weekend was.

Nobody saw Canisius giving up 12 goals to Mercyhurst.....nobody.

And honestly I think the Griffs are getting screwed over in the pairwise and every national poll out there.

I think Mercyhurst just caught Canisius on a down weekend.  The Griffs will be a tough out come tourney time.

Such close losses to the Griffs will probably end up helping the pairwise

If that series is the NCAA dagger.........

Absolutely was. The season ended above that parking garage. Just need them to give people enough hope so I can sell my regional tickets

To be fair, North Dakota just can’t recruit high-end forward finishers that schools like Mercyhurst can.

Ever since Berry & Co. stopped recruiting high-end players from the twin cities area adult broom ball leagues, this team just hasn’t been the same.

Anyone know the song playing now right before UND hits the ice at the 7:00 minute mark?

I was wondering the same thing.  Kind of sounded like a duo like DJ Khalid or something showing the season highlights at the 8 minute mark for only about a minute before the teams come out for introductions.  Probably just a saturday night thing.  If anyone knows let us know!

Needed wins by the Sioux.  But I hate to be the potential black cloud, in order to get back to NCAA tourney we will either need to 1) win the NCHC tourney; or 2) sweep our remaining 4 games with UNO, sweep CC in CC, and then win 6 of 8 against SCSU, Denver, UMD, and UWM.  As Schloss pointed out, the Cansasius losses killed this team.  Any wins against UNO and CC will barely move us in the PW (as demonstrated over the weekend).

In other words, this UND needs a finish similar to what strong teams accomplished in 2007, 2009, 2011, 2015, and 2016.

While not impossible, certainly highly improbable.

That might be slightly overstating it.

I plugged in your results into the CHN customization feature for the Pairwise.  Because you didn't state which 6 we would win against UMD, SCSU, WMU and DU, I just went with sweeps at home and splits on the road.

With the results as you suggested, we'd be sitting at the #3 overall seed heading into the playoffs.  :p

It's actually a kind of fun tool to play around with, in your spare time.  Of course it assumes certain results elsewhere.  I believe it bases those results on KRACH ratings.  While they can be wrong, keep in mind they can be wrong in both directions (that is, to UND's benefit or detriment).

If you play around with the customization feature, what you'll see is that in the absence of some absurd outcomes elsewhere in college hockey, what UND really needs is to sweep two remaining series and split the rest. If it does that it's most likely spot in the pairwise will be around #10 heading into the playoffs.  Only one sweep and the rest of the series split will put us on the bubble, at around #15.

#QualityLosses ?

How do we get the hockey committee to accept the FCS selection committee's criteria? :D

I don't get all of the doom and gloom.

If you head over to CHN and sort by shots, we are currently sitting 12th.  Most years that's good enough to get in.

BTW, Nice call on the Shot Sweep this weekend.

Sure you have math on your side, but panic  and despair are the native languages spoken around these parts.

I’m listening to the Mike Haviland Coaches Show with Ken Landau and after listening to this, they oughta rename it, The Mike Haviland Excuses Show. My god, he’s still whining about the no goal on Saturday.

The Westin Michaud goal where a CC teammate interfered with Scheel in the blue paint, preventing him to get in position. To a man, that goal should have been waived off. If the tables were turned, I’d acknowledge that it should be waived off on UND.

Isn't it tough to argue a call nowadays when the ref actually goes and watches the play multiple times from multiple angles before making the call?

I could still argue the off-sides call against us overturning the goal against Boston in Fargo....

But yeah, those CC no-goals were obvious.
