They don’t care if it’s terrible, it will be swept under the rug.

It will be interesting to see what the coaches have planned this period.  Denver controlled play quite a bit that period.

It looked to me as if Smith stood upright just before contact.  If he would have dashed left or right he may have left a knee out there and get a penalty anyway.  Did the DU player return?  fair trade?

Why is it Smith's job to get out of the way? Plante gets a pass because he came out worse after skating into another guy?

If Smith goes down you can call interference on Plante.

For sure a penalty. Five is harsh. Officials probably handcuffed due to the player getting injured.

I think the argument is he moved to insure contact. I don't see it. But I think that is why they called it. i think Smith has every right to posess the ice he is standing on when the puck isn't nearby. At least that's how I read the rulebook.
