SkoHawks Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 Elijah Beach listed as bigger than Morrison was when he signed, if he can carry the weight well, maybe the plan is for him at NG?? Either way, if they can play let's get them here, worry about position later. Quote
LH Golfer Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 Honest question. When recruiting kickers do you find FB players that can kick, or go to soccer teams and find athletes that want to kick footballs? Quote

Will need a couple OL to switch sides or bring in a couple JUCOs. Losing both NG's to graduation is an issue. Greer plugs holes and Tank made plays with his quickness, and Cieslak at nearly 300 lbs has been making more plays from the end spot, too. Of the returning guys, Bennett won't be an issue, we know that. Engwall is up to about 270. I'm sure Seguin and Ott will come back heavier next year, too. Morrison, Johnson and Honerlaw will have to work hard in the offseason. But yeah - we don't really have your traditional fireplug NG body on the squad that I know of. Quote

If you don’t go for an actual athlete with a strong soccer background you’re asking for trouble. If they’re just a kicker and don’t excel in other sports I’d look elsewhere. Soccer players understand how to manipulate the ball that other athletes can’t which comes in handy for onsides, squibs, and pooch kicks as well as how to kick through the wind. Quote

iramurphy Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 The Dirksen kid from Willmar ran for over 130 yds and a TD and threw for 2 TDs in their 44-0 win vs Hermantown last week in the quarter finals. Last night he ran for 90 yds and 3 TD's and threw for 4 TDs in their 62-20 against St. Paul Johnson. I watched part of game replay on Star Tribune web site. Quote
