Very random offseason thought, where do John Santiago and Brady Oliveira rank among the all-time great UND running backs? Both are in the top 10 in career rushing yards and touchdowns. In my time following UND football, the only RB I’d put ahead of them is Ryan Chappell, man, what could have been. Otis had some flashes (on the field), and I’ve always loved Ziebarth’s game, but I don’t think he’s gotten the workload he deserves, maybe in part due to durability. Like I said… just a random topic to chew on while we wait for the season to start!

I loved Chappell, too, and I remember the game that he had at UNI when we upset them when we were still D2 that I got to see in person.  But I think I'd rank both Santiago and Oliviera ahead of him, simply because Chappell only played two years.  Yeah, what might have been.  I'd rank all three of them in the top five, though.  Loved Santiago, though, and might rank him at the top.

I see Feeney is still splitting time at QB for St. Johns. Through 2 games he is 26/33 (79%) for 356 yds and 4 TD’s. I run for 12 yds. St. Johns is ranked 4th in D3.

Not yet, but he has to stay healthy. He is athletic and big “wingspan” which they like in linemen, especially tackles. He has held his own when healthy, but  most playing time has been in exhibition games.

If he is splitting time at St. Johns it would appear he has found his level, no diss intended. St. John's is a quality program, almost always in the top 10 for their level and great local support. Homecoming this weekend the cars will be parked all the way out to I-94.

Carter has a bright future with UND football; and yes, it is awesome to have Jim back in Grand Forks regularly.

St.Johns was 9-1

He completed 77% of his passes for almost 2700yds, 32 tds and 3 ints. 
One of our former staff’s (and present OC’s) biggest mistakes was how our QBs were evaluated, developed and how we communicated with the QB group.

He has had an impressive season so far and he isn’t even the best QB in the family.
