UND got to plaÿ a meaningless game no one cared about, throw 40 grand down the toilet, and make their players stay in Grand Forks over spring break. Sounds like IPFW got the better deal. 3 Quote

At least UND didn't have locker room issues problematic enough to think it was better to just end the season. Omaha scored 80 points in second half and lost tonight . Quote

In the Summit: Omaha is exotic and Denver is the end of the world. In the Big Sky: Denver is where you transfer flights to places like California. Stop at the Summit or reach for the Sky 1 Quote

All because their coach decided to shut the season down because their locker room was a mess due to things like a player quitting midseason then being welcomed back (and the suspension coincidentally being lifted when another starter got hurt), the leading scorer getting suspended before the conference semi-finals for "violation of team rules" and another who just wanted the season to be over so he could announce he was transferring (and that's just the parts that are public knowledge). Or was it that they were looking for ways to keep costs down because the students didn't give them the money they needed to help cover their budget shortfalls due to a decrease in state funding? A classic I read was where, "NDSU suspended Dupree for 6 games". No, he quit on the team for four games, came back, and was suspended for two, then was put in vs. IPFW due to injury. Guess what he did and teaching him a lesson wasn't as important as needing him vs. the Dons. Quote

UND1983 Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 There was more than 1,200 there. Is this one of those deals like NCAA football playoffs where you want to under report? But since its a bid deal I don't know why that would be. Quote
homer Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 I don't care if there was 500 people there. UND was able to afford the game and it was a good investment. It was a quality opponent and was a great game not only for the fans that were able to attend but for those that watched on TV. Biggest benefit is a young team getting another game vs. a good opponent. I even think the Summit fans would approve of their RPI (#75) Quote

jdub27 Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 #butrpi?? John Gasaway - ESPN Insider Quote You shouldn't judge a conference by the one-game sample size offered by the NCAA tournament. Or at least you shouldn't do that ordinarily. But the Pac-12's 1-5 record -- and most crucially the fact that all five losses came to lower seeds -- does little to counter the sentiment that the league's beautiful RPI was built on savvy scheduling more than performance. 1 Quote
Risky Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 The most exciting part of that game was that we were playing a very very good team who was co champs of a west coast conference, and we lost a heartbreaking game in overtime and could of just of easily won. And the biggest positive of the game, most of the second half we were playing with 3 freshman on the court. Can't wait for next year. The other players that playing were freshman, sophomores and a junior. Wow. We also have some excellent additions coming next year too. UND.s team actually has a very healthy locker room environment compared to a team a little south of here. Quote
homer Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Good game by SDSU. Its been a fun day to watch the tourney. Quote
