Wilbur Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 Looking at the Twins record as well as the rest of the AL Central makes one chuckle. Chicago is .500 with a bunch of talent, the Twins are 4 games above .500 with a bunch of talent and a fixed bullpen. Cleveland is 6 games above with great pitching, but goes into worse offensive stretches then the Twins. Maybe Cleveland has the best chance of the three in the postseason, but I can't imagine any of these teams making a run. Quote
SiouxScore Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 Cease no hits the Twins for 8 2/3 innings which you could almost see coming an Arraez single kept the no-no from happening , Mahle gives up 4 in the first and leaves after 2 innings with shoulder soreness again, White Sox score 13 and are right back in the race. SWSiouxMN Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 Go figure, as soon as they get rid of Tony, they found themselves. Quote
SiouxScore Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 Correa came through with a big hit, Miranda added the insurance late, Bundy was good, and Duran came through in the big spot. Needed that win. 1 Quote
Wilbur Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 Duran is just the man. I know they won't give the award to a rookie pitcher, but he's the best rookie in baseball. Thank you Eduardo Escobar for being traded for him years ago.... Quote

Watched Duran the other night; has some real nasty stuff. The Twins better hang on to him; teams like New York and the Dodgers will probably come sniffing around. Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 Can't ask for anymore that what Archer did today. Quote
Wilbur Posted September 6, 2022 Posted September 6, 2022 Maybe Pagan won't give up a....and it's gone. Thirty more games, then he's gone...... Quote

SWSiouxMN Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 Pitching hasn't been the issue in this series. Once again... cannot get THE hit. Correa must be insane to think he is going to get a big payday in FA with what he is doing Quote
Wilbur Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 My word, how poorly managed is this team? You just expect stupid mistakes because that's what we've seen everywhere all year long. Be 68 and 68 by this time tomorrow. Quote

SWSiouxMN Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 I just want to see the Twins actually jump ahead on the next big trend in baseball instead of arriving to the party late and staying later than they should at said party. Quote
sioux rube Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Wow. They actually beat the Yankees 1 Quote
Wilbur Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 I'll eat crow, they beat the Yankees. Now the AL Central a bunch... Nice job Fulmer. Quote

Wilbur Posted September 11, 2022 Posted September 11, 2022 Tony leaving the Sox has got them going. Twins fading away. Twins 2-8 their last ten. Quote

Frozen4sioux Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 Well the Vikings beat the backers to start the season... Any of the MN sports fans that even remotely followed the twinks now can just pretend they don't exist and concentrate on planning the Super Bowl parade.... That is untill the 1st round playoff loss in January, and hopes turn to the promise of pitchers and catchers reporting.... Maybe the replacement North Stars distract them for a bit, but.... the promise of a June top of the AL central will eventually return... This is how 20 years pass in the blink of an eye 3 Quote
Wilbur Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 Different sports, different situations, but just a different vibe in Minnesota yesterday on the football field. There was a new blood energy that I felt gave the team a boost. And the fan base is thrilled to see a new regime after the last one ran its course, and was as successful as it was going to be. On the baseball field we are just lifeless. Lots of injuries, but I think a new front office and manager could go a long ways in getting some excitement back at Target Field. Who knows, not being able to shift next year may mean Rocco puts the binder down once in a while. Maybe an announcement from MLB that bunting is still a legal play would help. Quote
