UND Fan Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 A win is great but we were very lucky - it appeared we would lose to another not very good team!! Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 YES! That is what we need from Hooker every night he step out on the court. Quote
MoSiouxFan Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 Looks like our backcourt scored all but 14 of our points. Quote
the green team Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 A win is great but we were very lucky - it appeared we would lose to another not very good team!! Sometimes its ok to be a little lucky- and maybe they aren't very good, but I bet there were 2 or 3 players on their team that we tried to recruit. So let's enjoy a road win, and build off it. Still lots of room to get better no doubt but good step forward just to win on the road. 2 Quote
UND-FB-FAN Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 Still need to be way better. A win is a win though, and now a tough game versus Minnesota lies ahead. Jones will really have to outdo himself, along with the players of course, in order for UND to have a shot. Quote
bincitysioux Posted December 7, 2014 Author Posted December 7, 2014 Finally a win on the road. Great job by the players and coaches to scrap their way back into it after an awful start. Drake may not be great, but any win in a Missouri Valley barn is a good one in my opinion. Lots of positives to take from this game. 2 Quote
SiouxVolley Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 Looks like our backcourt scored all but 14 of our points. Shanks may add another dimension that this team needs. Quote
UND1983 Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 Nice road win for Jones and the boys. I have been hard on him for that but they got one today over a MVC team. Nice job coach. Quote
darell1976 Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 Good road win, that streak is dead and maybe they can build on this. Minny will be tough so hopefully they will overlook us. Quote
CMSioux Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 The thing about beating a team that is 1-7 is if you lose it just adds more fuel to the "Fire" and if you win you don't get any credit for it. Drake seems to have fallen on hard times wasn't that long ago they were the talk of mid-major basketball. I wonder if their fan site has a thread asking for their coach to be fired? Quote
bincitysioux Posted December 7, 2014 Author Posted December 7, 2014 As I said, I'm ecstatic to get a road win, and against a Missouri Valley team to boot makes it even better. But just perusing the box score, I see the team shot just 56% on free throws. Am I the only one that thinks that is ridiculous for a Division I college basketball team to barely make half of its free throws? Quote

SWSiouxMN Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 At least give credit to Nash to actually working on his free throw shooting, his release and form from this year to last has improved dramatically. Granted its still 59% but its better than a cringe worthy 36% Quote
SiouxFan100 Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 I am sure they work on free throws in practice. It turns into a head game that some success will build on more success. Sure is a difference maker though. Sounds like we also gave us easy baskets on inbound plays under our basket. Sounds like we see these plays on tape and practice how to defend but players don't always step up. Sure sounds pretty elementary but what do you do? Our players need to step up and make all these plays that you would expect someone in high school to make. Still, great to win one on the road. Quote
sioux2013 Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Thanks for the video. First time I saw the shot and what a crazy shot. Very lucky it went in but very happy it did. Quote
jdub27 Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Well done by Q. On another note, Drake's arena looks a lot like the Betty could if they put in permanent seating on the ends instead of the portable bleachers. Understand that takes away from the multi-purpose use of it but just food for thought. Quote
