UND92,96 Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Terry Allen is out at Missouri St., and so is Eric Wolford at Youngstown St., despite going 31-27 in his five years there. It's interesting that Dale Lennon is 28-29 during the same time frame. Quote
Hayduke Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 I hope Lennon stays at SIU. Checking any chatter about UNC Bears coach Collins. I hope they keep him around. That is one tough job. I don't think they'll get anyone better anyway... Quote

Yeah, I was talking about Collins. I hadn't heard that Moccia made any comments recently about Lennon, but I believe he was just extended prior to this season. Have to assume Lennon will be safe for another year. It'll take a few months for an A.D., to be hired, so I would think January/February would be an inopportune time to make a coaching change. Have to think that Lennon will have to get into the playoffs next season though to keep his job, otherwise the new AD will want "his guy" in there. Quote

MafiaMan Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Bobby Hauck is apparently out at UNLV. Any chance he returns to Montana? He had a nice run at Montana from 2003-2009...but UNLV was a disaster. Quote
jodcon Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Bobby Hauck is apparently out at UNLV. Any chance he returns to Montana? No, it was Hauck's players and lack of leadership that caused most of the sh^tstorm we went through, his "above the rules" attitude set this program back even after he was gone. Still there would be those "win at any cost" fans who would roll out the red carpet, but not anybody from the University or BOR. Quote

There does seem to be some steam to this speculation: Even FootballScoop Staff @FootballScoop Nov 29 I understand that the large donors at Montana very much want Bobby Hauck back. Needs clearance from the President is what I heard. 0 replies11 retwee Quote
jodcon Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 There does seem to be some steam to this speculation: 0 replies11 retwee Somebody posted that the Washington family is pushing for Hauck's return, everybody has a theory and an "inside source" so you can't really trust anything you hear, so who knows if there is any truth to it. But fresh off their $7 million donation this fall it would make for some interesting conversation if true...still I just can't see the University going for it based on past events, and have a hard time believing he wants to move back to FCS. But I don't have an inside source so I'm probably wrong. Quote
UND92,96 Posted December 1, 2014 Author Posted December 1, 2014 Not FCS, but it's interesting that one name that was mentioned by many as a potential UND candidate a year ago--Lance Leipold--was just hired as the head coach of Buffalo of the MAC. You don't often see somebody jump from dIII to FBS. Quote
bincitysioux Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Some familiar names being thrown around for the Portland St. vacancy. June Jones of NFL, SMU, and Hawaii fame; Tim Walsh the current head coach at Cal Poly and former PSU head coach; Robin Pflugrad the embattled former Griz coach and UND applicant who was a fan favorite here during the coaching search. He is also a PSU alum. Portland Tribune Quote

UNDBIZ Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Zach Barnett @zach_barnett Sources tell @FootballScoop Bruce Barnum will remain Portland State's interim head coach through the 2015 season http://footballscoop.com/the-scoop Retweeted by SiouxFootballInsider Keeping an interim for an entire season? Is this an indication that PSU football is folding or making some other change soon? Why not just name him Head Coach? Quote
UND Fan Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Keeping an interim for an entire season? Is this an indication that PSU football is folding or making some other change soon? Why not just name him Head Coach? I agree - that is very odd. Certainly will not help their recruiting! Quote
The Sicatoka Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Very odd. Could PSU be looking at the UAB solution? Quote
andtheHomeoftheSIOUX!! Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Very odd. Could PSU be looking at the UAB solution? Either that or FBS but they are still a year away and not ready to start pouring in the big dollars. Quote
Nodak78 Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Last year there was an article that the football had to be self funding. They are far from being self funding. My guess is this is an exit strategy. Quote
