geaux_sioux
I'm not predicting this, but let's talk about the possibilities of us attaining that record, and, if we do, will we be in the playoffs?
nd1sufan
I'm not predicting this, but let's talk about the possibilities of us attaining that record, and, if we do, will we be in the playoffs? Only if EWU is one of the wins. You would have to have a big win against a top team to get in with 5 losses.
FargoBison
7-5 teams do not make the playoffs, see UNI from last year. That said maybe you could get there if Molberg and your offense can figure things out. The sky is very soft at the middle and bottom this year. and your defense is playing with an edge. Oxbow6
Who is this "we" you're speculating about?
UND-FB-FAN
7-5 is possible given the only top-10 FCS team remaining on UND's schedule is Eastern Washington. Given how poor Eastern Washington's defense is, that game is not impossible for UND, either. I see 6-6 because I think UND will drop a game @ Eastern Washingtona and @ another Big Sky team, perhaps SUU. For the playoffs, I think UND would have to win out and go 8-4 and get that win versus Eastern Washington. At 7-5 with a win vs. Eastern Washington, it is possible still I suppose. I think 7-5 with the one loss versus Eastern Washington would keep UND out of the playoffs but would sure build up hype for 2015 given how young UND is. iramurphy
I'm not predicting this, but let's talk about the possibilities of us attaining that record, and, if we do, will we be in the playoffs? We won't make playoffs unless we win Saturday. That's the only game that can make a difference. Same answer next week and each week.
Nodak78
at this point the way the freshman and sophmores are playing with maturity. I believe we should be disappointed if we dont win out the regular season. except for the correctable errors we would have won both MT and MT state. Mollberg, Norberg and ferguson all getting better. Mollberg minimized the 2 bad snaps by covering rather than picking it up. Norberg is running better dont know why he fumble. ferguson covered up the ball and didnt fumble on the long pass. just my thoughts.

Certainly the best way to look at it from a players and coaches' perspective. One game at a time; not going to argue that. Team should look to come out with a lot of energy on homecoming and get a much-needed rebound victory vs. Portland State.

From this point forward in terms of this season, UND should expect to win every game. As for next season, the team will have a lot of returning contributors, which usually always translates well to success.

The Sicatoka
Play for one more snap, on defense, on offense*, and who knows ... *Namely, fix the correctable stuff: too many penalties again yesterday, the center exchange, maintaining possession.
Goon
I like this defense. They improved a lot from the Stoney Brook game.
gfhockey
the GOBC hates moral toe to toe victories just like the next guy but we are starting to make a little noise in the BSC now people are talking about our d on message boards now and wondering how bubba reversed it in one year

Encouraging that this team has come close to defeating a couple ranked FCS teams the past couple weeks and the only thing that held them back were penalties and mistakes (bad snaps). Why is that encouraging? Because they're correctable in the short-term; Bubba and UND could be going on a winning streak to close out this season if the necessary improvements are made. darell1976
I don't think with our offense we hit 7 wins, maybe 5. Next year I think UND will turn it up and will flirt with the playoffs.
CMSioux
This is the kind of discussion that would be more fun if we didn't have trolls running back to their cronies - I bet a week's pay there are comments on this over on bison-swille. It is fun to positively speculate - after the Missouri game many thought this team could go 1 - 11.

fightingsioux4life
UND should win more than 5. At least 6. I said it before the season started: 6-6 probably gives Bubba some major consideration for Big Sky Coach of the Year. And I do think it is possible. darell1976
UND should win more than 5. At least 6. 5 or 6 is a hell of a big turnaround from the 3 last year. Is anyone else excited for next season? Maybe open up with an upset win at Wyoming?

RollTribe
I can see 7-5 as a possibility, but I would say 6-6 if I was betting on it. As far as playoffs go, I can't imagine UND getting in without beating EWU. I'm very proud of this team, and the job that Bubba & his staff has done with them! If I recall correctly, hardly anyone on here expected the new coach to come in and have a winning record his first year, but everyone wanted to see a team that was better defensively, more disciplined, and didn't give up, and this team has done exactly that! For the first time in a long time, I can say that I am excited, and optimistic for the future of the UND football team!
