College Hockey Expansion

In the era of declining enrollments, as long as there is a rink available, it is a good plan to add hockey for the enrollment it offers these schools. And Club hockey is popular in many of them.

Look at U Jamestown: 3 hockey teams- 1 D1 Men- 1 D2 men- and 1 for women. All club level, all full (or nearly full) rosters.

Yeah, and they care about football and spring football.

Great, can't wait for NIL to ruin college Hockey too - I understand the argument for it, but it really is about the worst thing for college sports overall IMO.

Why are all these bigger schools just now really starting to get into hockey? Is the sport just becoming more popular nationally or? Seems kind of like all at once with UNLV vs AA, ASU really taking a step forward, Wildcats, now fricken Georgia? Not complaining. Just think it’s odd?

The Goergia one has been known for a couple years now.

High Point was one that hasn't done anything yet but have a 10-year plan.

4 teams moving up to ACHA D1. Only 2 are notable in Oregon and San Diego State.

San Deigo State being the only ACHA D1 team in the state.

Icon Architects designed an arena soccer arena that was just built in San Diego.  Perfect for D1 hockey.

Nvm.  Looks like it's being built too far away.. in Oceanside

That new arena is looking nice in Vegas (Henderson) for UNLV to possibly use if they move up.

Could Orleans be an option too?  Maybe they give UNLV a better deal if they are looking for a major tennant for example.

Do you know how to read a p&l?

more revenue minus expenses equal netnincome

ncaa hockey tourney 4th most profitable sport

Excuse me while I cross reference the NCAA p&l. Jeeze. Was legit just wondering why the hockey team or tourney for that matter would be more profitable compared to other sports.
