Wilbur Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 you could probably relay that to half of the Ralph on any given night. I'm flattered an NDSU Fan as yourself watches every UND game. Thank you. 1 Quote
scpa0305 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I'm glad the refs played it fair tonight .....laugher Quote
Wilbur Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Empty netter for SCSU, and its a split at the Herb. Quote
sprig Posted March 2, 2014 Author Posted March 2, 2014 Didn't seem to have the same energy level as last night. Appeared they were still playing with a 4 goal lead. And finally the Bison BB post game senior BS ends. Let's get to the Hawks/Pens. Quote
senor_sieve Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I'm flattered an NDSU Fan as yourself watches every UND game. Thank you. I venture up to the ol' Nazi Memorial Rink once or twice a year to cheer on the opponent. I may or may not be a fan of a current conference foe. I've noticed a good chunk of your fan base knows little to nothing about hockey, other than that the puck is supposed to go into the net. I'm a little confused that a program with such a storied history has a fan base that knows so little about basic aspects of hockey. I can understand not having a grasp of schemes and styles of play, but not knowing what offsides is? or icing? really? Quote

Siouxperfan7 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Let's put things in perspective. We were pretty much dominated by St. Cloud at home. We went in to their house, dominated them in the first game and pkayed a close game and lost a close game. This is the team that is tied with us in for the lead in the league and is ranked in the top 10 of the PWR. We got a split on the road with a very good team. Quote
SiouxFanatic Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Well, we all knew sweeping St. Cloud wasn't going to be easy. I did like it that we at least had the opportunity to do so. Gotta give credit to SCSU, there is a reason why they are tied for 1st with us. Just gotta keep chugging on. We have WMU at home while St. Cloud has to travel to Colorado Springs. Hopefully we can take care of business against of WMU and CC manages to get a win out against St. Cloud. Quote
Wilbur Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Some thoughts: ~Zane was very good. First loss since November. Boy did he make some tremendous saves in tight. ~Not going to throw team green under the bus. SCSU played pretty well. Had a couple posts, but just didn't generate much in the quality category, a lot of that because of what SCSU did. ~Some penalties way too far away from our goaltender. Neutral zone and offensive zone can't happen. I know they're hustle plays, but have to be better with the sticks. ~Two games left in the regular season. At this time of the year its playoff hockey. Very important to establish the high level of intensity here on out. Upset they didn't get the sweep, but have put themselves in a good position heading into the final weekend. Quote

Stubborn and ardent clinging to one's opinion is the best proof of stupidity. 5 Quote
Oxbow6 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 It was a good weekend boys, go Sioux! Agree... thought Zane was very good for 118+ minutes this weekend. Quote

SiouxTupa Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I wish NCAA hockey would decide on a standard rink size. The team seemed out of energy at the end, St Cloud's did too, though. Lots of real playoff hockey coming, so it's not bad to get a loss of if the way prior to the elimination rounds. Good weekend overall. Go get that Cup next weekend! Quote
OETKB Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Totally predicted a letdown tonight. Hard to watch, though. No momentum tonight after the first period at all. Oh, well. We can still hope that this team will re-discover the teamwork thing again soon. Quote
yababy8 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 It might have been a good time for Zane to take a loss. We probably won't lose next weekend or the weekend after. so then if he had not lost tonight he would be taking a pretty heavy stretch into the stretch where I would really like to see him win em all!... The Sioux lost a ton of puck battles tonight and had hard time getting the puck up top in the offensive zone. That's the improve area I would take from this one. Quote
hrkac Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Agree... thought Zane was very good for 118+ minutes this weekend. I thought he was the best player on the ice tonight period, both teams. Quote
Palum Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Cory Thorson is a classless ass. I was sitting second row when he scored scsu's second goal and came over to very aggressively taunt us. Completely over the top. Hey, celebrate your goal - but show at least some minimal level of sportsmanship. Faragher came by for a little taunt after the eng, but he just came off as a dork. Quote
brianvf Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Cory Thorson is a classless ass. He's just mad because his snowmobile wouldn't start before the game so he had no way of making it to the Concrete Center. Good thing Dowd has a 2-seater, so he got a ride with him. 1 Quote

Gma loves hockey Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I do have to admit that since the new Ralph, a lot of people go as a social occasion instead of a sport. When the kids sitting beside you spend most of the game on their cell phones, then stop to ask what period we are in........... Makes you almost wish they would outlaw phones in there. Quote
