2015 Recruiting

That may work for UND coaches when it's the kids only offer, but if they give a kid with multiple offers a deadline, my guess is the recruit tells them thanks but no thanks. I don't think UND has that kind of leverage at this point on the recruiting trail.

As much as you may hate reality because you think NDSU is a football program everyone knows about, the bottom line is both NDSU and UND are FCS schools. Most DI athletes don't dream about going to either NDSU or UND, so when FBS offers don't work out, they then fall back to the realization they have to go FCS and often times UND and NDSU fall on the same level to them. It's then about the recruiting relationships they make. Of course, for NDSU they can offer recent success and national exposure, but it's still only relative because NDSU has no exposure compared to Big Ten and Big 12 FBS schools. UND can now counter will academics, playing time, and facilities in the indoor practice facility. What I'm saying is that delusional fans like you don't truly understand the gap between the programs; it isn't as big as you think.

With competent coaching and recruiting, which UND now has, UND football will be back to a winning level very soon. As for Faison's commitment to football, that still needs work. NDSU's athletic department deserves as much credit as anything for their recent success; they have bought in and influenced generous support from alumni and fans.

And you are probably one of the UND supporters that were trumpeting how Bubba was going to build the program the right way, with Upper Midwest High School kid. What happened?

How has he not? Go look at the commit list.

Take a look at what Bohl did with his first D1 roster and then come back and address your comment.

The cupboard was bare and they are doing what every program does the first few years in that situation.

Step your game up. Your smack is weak as !@#$. At least try and use some facts, it's a hell of a lot more effective than just making !@#$ up.

Are UND coaches and fans so desperate for players that they want a kid allegedly involved in a point shaving scandal?

Are you so worried about UND that you are already tearing down a kid who hasn't even signed here?

The odds of him signing here may be small but regardless, the only source of those allegations was a bookie and nothing could be proven.

Your concern with UND football is becoming an obsession.

Further explain. Again, don't let your obsession with UND get in the way of facts.

Playing time definitely. Academics are a wash. Where are the facilities superior to NDSU's. NDSU has 3 perfectly good outdoor practice fields, one with the same field turf as in the dome, they put a bubble over Dacotah Field for the month or two that it is uncomfortable to practice outside. They are putting a state of the art weight and training facility in the SHAK. The football offices, team meeting rooms and film rooms are as good as there are in FCS. The stadium and game day atmosphere are second to none in the FCS. Exactly where is the advantage for UND?

After phase two is complete only your game day stadium will be better, til then we have no advantage.

UND offers academic opportunities that NDSU can't always match: aviation, business, medical, law, and petroleum engineering, just to name a few. Also, NDSU's practice bubble is a joke compared to UND's $20 million HPC. Not every prospect just jumps at the winningest FCS program of the pasts few seasons, especially when most DI

prospects do not want to attend FCS schools but rather have their sights on FBS.

UND has the ability to offer playing time, specific academic

majors, a great practice/training facility, and most importantly, a good family coaching atmosphere.

All of these things don't create an advantage for UND over NDSU, but they do allow UND to recruit many of the same athletes that NDSU recruits.

A Bubba led 5-peat I am assuming. Am I right?

The tide turned after the Bison had a great run. When UND got going the Bison went DI.

Perhaps when we start taking over you guys will try FBS to get away from us again.

Oh yah like there's never been an FU recruit that made a mistake BEFORE they got on campus - most make the mistakes after they get on campus - but it seldom impacts their status.

They didn't run from us, they got away from a sputtering D2. If we had any vision and sense back then we would have jumped with them and they would never have reached their current level because they wouldn't have been running away with recruits scott free. We can blame ourselves for the juggernaut they've been and now we find ourselves playing catchup, fighting against perception more than anything. Time to step up.
