Siouxcool, what can we expect for weather down there?

Expect wind. Lots and lots of wind.

On another note, while the game is in Omaha and not Lincoln, the Husker obsession is statewide. During the 3 years I lived in Nebraska, I learned that they love nothing more than hearing people mock the Huskers. So, if anyone needs a few jokes for their arsenal, just let me know. My personal favorite:

What's the difference between Cornhuskers and Cornflakes? Cornflakes belong in a bowl. :D

Thank you, thank you...I'll be here all night.

I would love to go but I have been planning a trip to DisneyWorld for over a year now for my kids. Unfortunately we fly to Orlando on Friday until the following friday so we only get to follow online. I am pretty jealous of those Sioux fans that are going. Have a great time fellow Sioux fans and cheer loud and I will be following the boys from sunny Orlando.

How about the top 10 jokes? Wind? You don't know wind! The Perkin's flag stands up like a old man on Viagra at a strip club.

Haha not sure about top 10, but here's some to get you started:

What separates a good football team from a great football team? Kansas

Where in Lincoln do you go in a tornado warning? Memorial Stadium...they never get a touchdown there

How do you get a Husker player out of your backyard? Put up goal posts

What's the difference between the Cornhuskers and a dollar bill? You can still get 4 quarters out of the dollar.

What do Cornhuskers and possums have in common? Both play dead at home and get killed on the road.

A few generic Nebraska ones:

What's the best thing to come out of Nebraska? I-80

Where's the best place in Nebraska? The exact middle...that way anyway you go, you're leaving

Can't think of any more off the top of my head, but I can let you know if I think of more.

My wife and I will be leaving Friday morning for the four hour drive to Omaha. Looking forward to a good time. Been a long time since I have watched a hockey game outdoors. Also have three extra tickets for Fridays game for sale for $15 each.

Weather In Omaha Now!

SNOWING AND HAS SNOWED ALL-NIGHT SO FAR! Still 9 Days Away From The Start Of The UND-UNO Games! Hopefully By Next Week The Weather Will Be Mild? I Did Look At The 10 Day Forecast & Temperatures in the 40's approaching 50 degrees were forecast for later next week!

Wishing ALL UND FANS Good Travel Weather And A Great Time In Omaha! And Two UND Wins Would Be Super Nice!

Here's a link to a pretty good article on the outdoor game from the Lincoln Stars Website...

Looks as though they are expecting around 15,000. It also states around 2000 UND fans are expected. Does anyone else find these numbers a bit disappointing. I was expecting more UND fans, at least in the 5,000 range and closer to 20,000 total attendance.

Personally, and I bet it's the case for a lot of people, it's either going to Omaha or going to the Final Five. I chose the Final Five.

Not as if Omaha is a wonderful winter vacation spot. I think a lot of people are thinking as you are Big A. People can maybe afford one trip a year and Omaha does not make it. As for 2000 fans from UND showing up what school would ever bring more?

That's the case for my friends and I. We renewed our Final Five tickets in November. I still really want to go to Omaha but just can't swing two big hockey trips (gas, ticket packages, hotel, food, etc.)

Maybe next time. I'm crossing my fingers Dave St. Peter can line up an outdoor game at Target Field between UND and Minnesota. It's on his wish list.

I agree about the Omaha location. If UND were to play an outdoor game, even against Duluth or St. Cloud, it would be as big, if not bigger than the Omaha game. MSP has a bigger UND Alumni base, more hockey fans in general, and is closer to GF. Still, UND fans travel well so I was still expecting a bigger turnout for it's first outdoor game.

I think that number is solid for a game in Omaha. Many fans may be choosing between that and a final 5 or potential frozen 4 I would guess so don't think 2,000 is low. To be honest I am excited to watch it but a outdoor game in Omaha didn't really get me fired up as a fan. Now throw in a traditional hockey market are and Im more inclined to go. I'm sure it will be a awesome experience for all. I just would have loved to see it versus a team around this area!

I think there will be a lot of Green and White in the stands and I think you will hear and the home of the Sioux pretty loud.

It's a shame this game will not be shown on TV. Would be nice if the Omaha Sports Commission could at least find a way to air it live on webcast. I would be willing to pay a few dollars to watch.

EDIT: Just saw in that it be on local TV in Omaha, but there are currently no plans to show it outside the area. Hopefully that will change.
