didn't espn just use a und graphic last fall when talking about the ndac?

Don’t care if they did. Did they want NDSU to kick off their entire CFB season or UND? They didn’t get that wrong.

Maybe we shouldn’t be so tough on espn’s confusion ….I mean, bison fans can’t seem to figure out which fan website to follow.

Just fun to see all the delusional posts that support the worst athletic department in the Summit.

Like clockwork, just shake the feed pail, say come bos! come bos! a couple times, and good ol’ bison dan comes running up to the feed bunk.

Are you saying the NDSU deal is worse than the Sac St deal? It appears Sac St won't even make up for the extra money they are paying to get into the Mac ($18M vs $12.5M) in the 5 years of media rights they may get. And then after that, NDSU will get 5 times more per year. Not sure what your point is.

Not saying that’s the case—just that you can’t directly compare $18 million to $12.5 million and conclude, “See, it’s only going to get more expensive,” like some NDSU fans are arguing. There’s a lot more to these contracts than the headline numbers.

Even the assumption that certain money will still be there in 2033 is just that—an assumption. There’s a significant alignment of contract expirations in the early 2030s, and it’s going to be very difficult to project what things will look like beyond that point right now.

Based on what we know so far, and without full details of the Sacramento State deal, the numbers appear fairly similar—probably within $2–3 million of each other. Ultimately, both schools did what they felt they needed to do.

Sacramento State likely carries the highest risk/reward profile. To truly maximize the metro market, they need to reach the Pac-8 level. This move feels like the first step toward getting a new stadium project underway. If everything falls into place, they probably won’t be in the MAC beyond the mid-2030s.

On the other hand, if the stadium deal collapses and the local market continues to ignore them, things could unravel quickly—potentially leading to leadership changes at Sac St and UC Davis stepping into a future Pac-8 opportunity instead.

Either way, it will be interesting to watch how it plays out.

ESPN knows the difference. NFL teams know the difference. NFL teams know where to go to look for draft picks and the next NFL players. UND is lucky to have NDSU around. They have their pro day the afternoon of NDSU's so they get a few scouts to drive up after they are at NDSU's. Otherwise they would have no scouts there. Not that they will get anyone drafted. Trust me. ESPN wanted NDSU for their opener last year. It was the most watched opener in many years. UND might, I say might, get a streaming option on the Big 10 plus for their game.

NDSU is no longer on ESPN.  You will be surprised how much they are willing to ignore schools and programs.  Sac St is in a ESPN media contract conference.  I think you will see the difference.

11 pm kickoff on a Friday night?! declining enrollment, budget cuts looming, expenses tripling, etc.

But hey, at least the Fargo Dome is getting a much needed upgrade. A couple hundred seats will now have cup holders!!

When does the dome authority go after another tax increase for the some ?

it’s coming , I didn’t realize how small some of the mwc stadiums are and how attendance at games isn’t great , Northern Illinois under 10,000 attendance

Hawaii stadium around 15000

‘how could ndsu lower its standards to those numbers

if you priotitze football easy choice....i still don't really understand mvfc members that are in the mvc for oly....one or the other and go for it...seems like they like to half ass it.

I presume they all have the means to fund what they want to fund.  Whether that is half-assing I guess might be in the eye of the beholder.

Generally people rank Hawaii and San Jose as the worst in the MWC.  But, a new stadium and major renovations are taking place.

Hawaii:

They are removing the old Aloha Stadium, so the current setup is temporary.

  • Future Venue: A new 25,000-35,000 seat stadium (New Aloha Stadium Entertainment District) is planned for completion around 2028.

San Jose just finished a $70m football operations center on the eastside of the stadium.  They are in the fundraising/planning phase to add seating on the eastside.

I think most G6 places (and even many P4), attendance is highly variable based on how well the team is doing.

Air Force maybe is an exception. I think they are fairly consistent because of factors that don't apply to other schools (glut of military in/around Colorado Springs).

when ndac hosted bobby morris and und hosted Notre Dame on the same day...less than 10k in the fargodump and packed to the roof for notre dame....and yes the bobby morris game was a PLAYOFF game

When mentioning the Montanas and moving up I think folks forget each would have to add sports as they are under the FBS required 16.
