Mankato isn't even D1 and the University System in Minnesota will never let any other school move up since it would threaten the Gophers.   So you'll have to find someone else to fill their slot in your pipe dream.

Minot State isn't D1 either and while they could move up they won't.   My better idea is worry about improving our athletics instead of trying to destroy the Summit.   Dude, did you react like this the first time your girlfriend dumped you?

Three things can happen at the same time. 1) UND should work on improving athletics 

2) the Summit should be proactive and protect itself by adding a non D1 member now to start the 3 year clock while it has 7+ members instead of wait until it has 6

3) All presidents can bury NDSU.  They have just told you they are leaving anyway.  Call their bluff

Here is statement from Chaves.  I guess it was too much to expect him to outline a real strategy but this seems pretty generic and timid.

Seems like the exact message everyone except Sac St has been putting out for the last few years. 

The President and AD are having the correct conversations and they don't happen in public. I would expect nothing is imminent until it is, that's why you have the conversations. UND has an absolute top notch President. They also have no reason to get into an unnecessary bidding war in public. They are in a fine spot where they are for the immediate future.

Focus on continued improvements, building up the University as a whole, building enrollment and making sure the financial house is in order for when the right opportunity arises. No need to completely get get taken to the cleaners and have the people who robbed you saying you've always been their top mark choice.
