The Sicatoka
Dearest Johnnyboy, You're feelin' your NDSU football-rah-rah oats right now. Good for you. Will you be like the EWU fan you complain about when times aren't so grand? Will you too become invisible when times get tough? PS - Johnboy ... as in that former illustrious poster here who lived in Johnson Hall at NDSU and is an Irish (<-- race-based hostile and abusive moniker alert) fan that "graced" us with their presence a while back? Hayduke
I like UND football, but let's face facts. The premier college sports team in the state of North Dakota, by far, is the Men's Fighting Sioux Hockey team. Period. Ain't no doubt about it. That just eats away at the over-inflated egos of the Bison fans. bwahahahahahaahaha!

Our team hasn't won but maybe 1 big game (#16 Cal Poly 2009). Or else our team hasn't done anything since beating UNI in 2006.

What I am saying that it just irritates the living Hell outta Bison fans that the state of North Dakota follows Sioux hockey much more than they do Bison football. But, I think that Sioux football will catch up after a few years in the Big Sky Conference.
mizzou/sioux
Yes, I am aware of 2003 being the best Gopher team of the past 50 years... and a mere four years later they had the worst Gopher team of the past 50 years, which illustrates the rapid decline that I previously made mention of. Those 2 Sun Belt teams, that Conference USA team, and the worst team in the Big Ten are all as good as if not better than a mediocre I-AA team (not that NDSU was even in I-AA yet in 2003, but they had stated their intention to move up the following year so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt). Depending on when you date the 50 years from (for example if you go back 50 years from 2003, that would go back to the mid-1950s), one might argue the 1960 Golden Gophers went on to win the national championship. The 1961 Gophers defeated UCLA 21-3 in the 1962 Rose Bowl. Those were a pair of potent Murray Warmath coached Gopher teams.
UND1983
Jim, Can you please stop all this NDSU talk in threads where it shouldn't be. It is ruining multiple threads and could easily be kept to one thread.

But, I think that Sioux football will catch up after a few years in the Big Sky Conference. UND hockey has really caught on since being at the top more and more. In the Gino years going so long without a championship it wasn't talked about that much more than UND football and basketball which were having good years finally. UND basketball making it to the Elite Eight with Rich Glas and the women's team 3 peating as National Champions. UND football finally beating NDSU and getting into the playoffs which wasn't done since the early 80's. Now with UND almost a lock in the frozen four I think it has to be the talk of the state until NDSU wins a FCS title and they had their 15 minutes or should I say 40 minutes of fame being in the dance vs Kansas but now I can't remember what year that was? 2008 or 2009 something like that. The Sicatoka
Hey! Right now: Back on topic! UND at Fresno State. What's new with Fresno State's FB program? Fraud investigations. As many as two dozen football players from Fresno State have been implicated in a welfare fraud investigation involving a county Department of Social Services worker accused of filing for false benefits for them and others. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/6949074/fresno-state-bulldogs-football-players-tied-welfare-fraud I think Fresno State should play it safe and suspend those guys for Saturday's game just in case there's some remote possibility of an NCAA violation associated with this. JohnboyND7
Damn, Dan. Every day I read SiouxSports. And every day there are more and more posters from the AC. Right away I get my underwear in a bunch expecting more snide, smart-ass cheap shots that add nothing to the conversation. I'm rarely disappointed. Then you post a reasonable comment like this. Cut it out. You're effin' with my preconceptions. I will make your day better. HEY SOOTOO, YOUR NAME NUCKS. there ya go. Glad to help ya out!
the green team
Hey JohnBoy- The Waltons called and they want their originality back. Now back to the topic. Even though our offense to me has looked utterly putrid. I am going to be positive and say that we will score 2 offensive touchdowns in this game. 1 in each half. Unfortunately, it won't be nearly enough as we get bopped hard. Final score The Fighting Pat Hills 55 Fighting Sioux 17.
Irish
If we get beat by a team with superior talent, so be it - I have no problem with that I would like us to look like a team who came to play and plays hard until the final whistle. I would like Fresno to know they had been in a football game. To that end, I would like the coaches to look like they are trying to win - come up with some aggressive schemes on both sides of the ball. We have some good young talent - we need to instill a Fighting Sioux attitude in this team. That starts at the top.

I'm on record somewhere on this thread giving UND 10-13 points I think? Somewhere in the 50's for Fresno.
JohnboyND7
It's not good enough to admit that your team was clearly better one year, you need both years even if it isn't true. That's how delusional and out of touch with reality you are. I've never done this before with anybody, but I feel the need to put this clown and one other on ignore. Can somebody please tell me how it is done? Someone would but I think they've all put you on ignore already I kid, I kid. I don't need both years, but what I do need is for you to quit proclaiming that UND was better. It probably would have been a good(by that I mean two bad teams playing a close game) game. I'd say 50/50 chances. BACK to Fresno DaveK, we were finally getting on topic.

It is ruining multiple threads and could easily be kept to one thread. No he can't, half the threads would be closed. Everything always ends up dragging in NDSU. Even hockey threads. Big Sky threads. Nickname threads. Facilities threads. Enrollment threads. If it has anything to do with any aspect of the operation of UND, eventually it will become a UND vs. NDSU pissing match. They can't help it and I guess neither can we.

They can't go much higher than that considering Fresno hasn't won a game yet.

JohnboyND7
I think it will be on espn3 Espn3 is really awesome if you have xbox live. I might recommend it for anyone who has a box, or their kid has one. Its really convenient watching it on TV rather than a computer screen. They can't go much higher than that considering Fresno hasn't won a game yet. I'm as big of a Sioux Football fan that you will find but I am also a realist and an amateur sports better. +26.5 would be extremely low in my opinion. Yeah, Fresno hasn't won a game yet but we just lost by 30 to a team that is much inferior to Fresno State. Fresno state is coming off a game where they put up 29 pts on NEBRASKA'S Blackshirt Defense! Throw in the fact that we are on the road, and can't come close to matching their speed and I honestly think that if someone were to be willing to publish a line on this game (I have yet to see an official one) that something closer to +48.5 would not be out of reason in order to try to garner public money. -26.5 for Fresno State would be a very costly line for any sportsbook. Regardless I will be watching the game and I really hope we can see this team take a step forward this weekend, especially on offense. Need to see some coaching adjustments by Muss. GO SIOUX! You are completely right. But for bookies who don't know anything about UND who is 1-1 and Fresno being 0-2, they make some mistakes. As long as the UND looks like they are improving, you guys can be happy. FBS games are awesome to win but if your team looks like they are heading in the right direction you cant complain TOO much( a little bit is perfectly fine). dakotadan
The game will indeed be on watchespn.com, formerly known as ESPN3.com, formerly known as ESPN360.com. Take your pick as to which website you want to watch it on. For those that don't get ESPN3, the Great West Conference will be broadcasting LIVE STATS that you can follow while listening to the game. Or as always, you can listen and follow the live stats on UND Insider.
