  1. My wife and I just moved to the Whitefish/Kalispell Montana area. Anyone going to be watching the game somewhere? Looking to see if there are any Sioux fans to join out here in Western Montana. GO SIOUX Yiyeeeeee
  2. I sent an Email to Dexter Albrecht at the ticket office as follows: Dexter, I am a recent graduatewith a degree in accountancy and minor in sports business living and working in Fargo. I had an idea/question to propose to you. Is there any way that the department could look into possibly offering some kind of deal to football season ticket holders like myself to order their very own new black jersey? Offering a black jersey to season ticket owners by order (possibly with commemorative Big Sky patch?) could be a great way to drive interest, make some money, and promote the blackout game against Montana later in the year! Could also be cool to reward season ticket holders with a small discount. Just an idea I had and thought I would pass along my thoughts - the new jerseys are great and i'd like to get my hands on one! I received this response: Thanks for the idea and for reaching out. I will pass along, but it's tough for us to do that because retailers like Nike usually make you guarantee a certain number like 700 or higher. We would have to know we could sell that many, and with us not being in retail makes that tough.. I will say that I know a few retailers will be having some replica black jerseys shortly most notably GWGear the new retailer at football. Not for sure if they will be Nike or not. I would say if you know other ticket holders who want the official Nike replicas to encourage retailers like Scheels, the Sioux Shop and others that there is a interest in those. If they know they can sell them they'll buy them. Thanks again for reaching out. Pass along any other ideas. Would anybody else be interested in something like this? If so lets start sending emails to the ticket office, sioux shop, scheels, and bookstore!
  3. Hey I'm new to the Fargo area. Does anybody know if the games play on "UNDSN" Channel 70 on CableOne, similar to the Midcontinent Sports Channel? Have had Midco my whole life new to CableOne. Will i be able to watch the game on here on Thursday? Guide currently shows "Off-Air". Thanks in advance.
  4. I tweeted at the UND Football official account during the Spring Game regarding my distaste for the home Green uniforms and actually received the following response (and a promising one at that): Joe Laszewski ‏ @grittysquirrels @UNDfootball's away White's are so much better than their home green's its unbelievable. That needs to be adressed. #blackalternates 3:19 PM - 21 Apr 12 via web · Details 21 Apr NorthDakota Football ‏ @UNDfootball @grittysquirrels Nothing official yet, but I believe it will be. 3:23 PM - 21 Apr 12 via web · Details
  5. We literally can't beat a single crappy mid-major school on the road. IDST, UMKC, and SacST should all be wins, even on the road they are not good teams.
  6. We should be losing to KU in january by 38, not to another mid major. SDSU should be a peer team to us. This team has a lot of flaws and isn't really making improvements. I think the loss of Coach Moody and Coach Phillippe are definitely looming large. Too many turnovers. Some guys taking a lot of bad shots. Inability to shoot free throws as a collective team. Poor team defense.
  7. When evaluating a player anyone who knows what they are talking about will not look at scoring volume, but rather offensive EFFICIENCY. Huff is a volume shooter and thus will almost always be one of our top 1 or 2 scorers. If he shot every time down the floor i'm willing to be his numbers would be way up, but it would be no good for the team. Thus far this sophomore year Huff is shooting 40% from the field, an abysmal 62% from the FT and a pathetic 18% from 3pt. When I say that he's not having the kind of soph year that we thought he would I mean it. He isn't maturing like we need him to if he is going to continue to take the volume of shots that he does. It's not that hard to understand.
  8. No surprise that we generally win the games where Anderson and Schuler play the best. It is because they score the most efficiently. Mitchell and Huff can light it up on any given night but both are volume shooters, which can be a big problem when they aren't shooting well and taking smart shots. If we can't beat UMKC or IDST the SDSU games could be ugly.
  9. Plain and simple Huff isn't what we thought he would be his Sophomore year. He takes a lot of really bad shots. Also shooting roughly 50% from the free-throw line is completely abysmal and is absolutely unacceptable. UMKC and IDST are both not good basketball squads. Both should be wins for this team, even on the road.
  10. Anderson continues to impress me. He is by far and away our best player. He scores so efficiently and he doesn't turn the ball over hardly at all. This team is still very young but needs to get better at shooting from the line and making baskets down low. Huff's shot selection continues to drive me nuts. Layups, Freethrows, and Defense is how you win games! Go Sioux!
  11. Getting out rebounded by double digits by an NAIA team is absolutely pathetic. It gets back to what I mentioned before about not being able to crack a zone and have any kind of an inside out game. It is not THAT HARD to crack a zone when you have D1 athletes playing a NAIA team. The rebounding was lacking because we couldn't get the ball in deep so we passed the ball around the perimeter until we either turned it over or jacked up a 3. If and when we missed they had 5 guys against our 1 fighting for the rebound. This is something that needs to get addressed and quickly because it will be an issue against any D1 opponent. Also whoever was defending Webb look at his turnover numbers for season stats, it is atrocious for a PG. Huff's shooting was bad. Sure he scores but he is a volume shooter. He shot 50%FG 20%3pt and 50%FT that is not good at all. The reason I say Anderson is our best player is because he scores most EFFICIENTLY and he doesn't turn the ball over. Schuler so underrated but to anyone who has ever had the chance to watch him in person he is sooooooo sllllooooooww out there with his dribbling, and shot release. Makes it tough for him to get shots. I would rather have him score efficiently like he is now that try forcing shots when he likely isn't open. The Freshies will be fine they don't get much playing time and are adjusting for HS game to D1 game. The only thing that bothers me is I'd like to see something more out of them in games like the Jamestown game where we are playing an NAIA school.
  12. Free throw shooting was terrible, especially the aforementioned 8-16 by Huff. We still turn the ball over way too much, especially Jamall Webb. The dude was a turnover machine again tonight against an NAIA school. Schuler is extremely slow but underrated on this team. Aaron Anderson is our best player. He scores the most efficiently on the team, doesn't turn it over much, and doesn't take many bad shots. I was at the game and rebounding was a major problem. Basically Jamestown played a zone that for much of the first half we couldn't get into at all so we could cycle it around the perimeter until someone jacks up a shot and then no one is down low to rebound. We weren't even getting the ball in deep and kicking it out. Zone D is a huge problem for this team. Webb seems to especially struggle against it.
  13. Man oh man we are still a young team. You simply cannot continue to commit 20 turnovers and shoot 50% from the FT line at the D1 level. We were lucky to beat Montana and we should have lost to this W. Illinois team by much more than we did. The fact that this team can play so poorly and still win games/keep games close is a testament to how good they can become. But we certainly have a long way to go. GO SIOUX
  14. Both the Montana (Big Sky) & the W. Illinois (Summit) games will have terrible attendance because of Thanksgiving break. I'm pissed myself that I won't be in town to see 2 of our best home games of the entire year! Stupid scheduling IMO, but you gotta do what it takes to make a quality schedule!
  15. Guys, it will absolutely not be packed. This is poor scheduling at its finest. Students will be vacating the campus for Thanksgiving break, being as this game is the night before thanksgiving, there will be almost no students there. It sucks but that's just the way it is. Hopefully all the old cronies can be loud and proud.
