Looking ahead to 27-28 season:

The forwards will get interesting for 27-28 now.  I don't see how any of the five incoming players you have listed can be deferred without losing them (i.e. need two early departures or transfers to make this happen).  I think Reschny is 90% gone after next year, and Zellers 75% gone.  I expect 45+ points from both of them this year.

Yeah, I think those five forwards have to be incoming as of now.  I think Reschny will for sure be gone, but part of me thinks there is a decent chance that Zellers might stick around for his JR year.  If that's the case, then we'd need to see at least one forward sign or portal out.

I posted on GPL last week that UND picked up Fitzhenry.  Now today I mentioned that the Sioux just got two more big commits and the same guy keeps telling me "**** North Dakota".  Do you think the asterisks are covering up the word Congratulations?

We are too stacked to not lose someone if not multiple to the portal after the season. Thought the same thing last summer and had Strathmann pegged to leave. Figured Klee would at least wait another season and didn't think Littler would, but that's the reality now. Plenty of hungry programs further down the pyramid to fight for the scraps of our largesse.

I think Zellers stays for his junior season but zero inside info on that. Just a hunch. With this commitment, I wonder if Sanderson makes it to campus and also McKamey? McKamey obviously has to be two years out now and I wonder if he's ok with that?

Guess I wouldn’t appreciate gopher fans coming on here and gloating when they get big recruiting wins against us, but to each their own.

I imagine some decisions for leaving after next year could be how we end our season.

I would agree if they were coming this year. But with them coming in at 19 I imagine we get them for one year and then gone. Part of me even worries that they don’t even make it to campus after next year but I hope I’m wrong.

It’s not like they are going top 5 or 10 in the draft.  Emery is going to be here for a third year, and he is probably much more athletic.

Fair but defensemen just need more time in general. Rucks are skilled enough to go 2 years after they’re drafted depending on progress and how much muscle they put on. So it’s not crazy to think that one more year in WHL and 1 year at college wouldnt be enough. Reschny went #18 overall and will *likely* leave D+2 and these guys aren’t going to get drafted that far behind him. But again this is all speculation that will be moot for a long time.

If they get drafted by the same team it's possible they never make it on campus, but they will still be WJC eligible. The chance to play together for Canada has to be a dream of theirs.
