CapFriendly shows STL is out of space to sign him (as they must make, by rule, a $1M offer to him on his RFA offer sheet). The speculation is STL will cut loose a forward to make space for Schmaltz. That said ... CHI has cap space and only 6 defensemen signed. I wonder if CHI would make a run at someone else's RFA to put the brothers together. https://www.capfriendly.com/ I would guess St. Louis has tried to move him but no takers. at the Million mark. I think a change of scenery would suit him well. Chicago would be a decent fit... Toews Schmaltz Schmaltz and maybe Johnson gets a look?.... BlackSiouxperHawks? Siouxperior
What I'd read said that with Karlsson being traded he had a pretty good shot at at top 4 spot. Guess not. tnt
It's all about making your presence known when you get called up. Boeser didn't start the season with Vancouver, but once he got there it was a no brainer that he would stay.

I don’t think Boeser was ever sent to Utica, he made the team out of camp and the was scratched for a few games to start the season. Coach Green was not a fan and kept saying Brock needed to “earn his time”. Green is a moron.
Frozen4sioux
Zane placed on waivers for purpose of assignment to providence. Best case scenario for him, pray that someone claims him, He NEEDS to get out of the Bruins org.
Frozen4sioux
NHL locks: Rowney, Nick Schmaltz, Toews, Jost, Caggiula, Forbort, Parise, Zajac, Nelson, Dell, Boeser, Stecher, Oshie. Sent down so far: Zane McIntyre, on waivers. Thompson, Simpson, Malone, Cam Johnson, Wolanin, Polanski, Tambeleavi. Still fighting for spot: Luke Johnson - strong chance he makes it Paul LaDue - also good chance for roster spot Rocco Grimaldi - With the preds down a F for Woman beater Watson’s suspension, he’s in the mix. Drew Stafford - Was looking like s PTO make ally but now in doubt Coban Knight - was looking good but was injured last night Jordan Schmaltz - Will make opening night roster due to Botuzzo suspension Shane Gersich - making it difficult for them to send him down but I think he drops Tucker Poolman - good chance to be the 7th D roster spot to start

No, I was thinking Boeser got sent to the farm team because it didn’t make sense that they wouldn’t have a young guy playing somewhere. The point is still relevant though, as he sure took advantage once he cracked the lineup.

Frozen4sioux
Grimaldi - on waivers feels for him, I thought he done good in preseason, but the Preds usually go for more of the scumbag douchnozzle type worthless POSs like wifebeater Watson, and diving goongobblers, so I knew it would be a longshot. Jordan Schmaltz still in camp but Blues just traded for a D.... i think Luke Johnson makes it, Drew Stafford hangs with Devils..... Ladue and Poolman are 50/50 IMHO

Ladue and Poolman are 50/50 IMHO Luke had quite a few haters here when he was struggling, especially in his soph year, if I recall. But he kept at it and turned into an important contributor. Still, I'm a little surprised he will likely make the roster. It would be a very good surprise, though, especially if he spent significant time in Chi.
