We really are spoiled by the number of players that have come through the University over the years that have turned into quality coaches.

Steve Johnson, Chad Johnson, Brad Berry, Karl Goehring, Dane Montgomery, Scott Sandelin, Jason Herter, Grant Paranica, Tarek Howard, Tim Skarperude, Tyler Palmiscno, Cary Eades, Dave Tippett, Rick Zombo, Matt Smaby, Colten St. Clair, Dave Hakstol, Jeff Bowen, Jim Archibald, Al Henry, Brad Malone, Dillon Simpson....

And that's just off the top of my head.

Dane Montgomery?

Great seeing TJ Oshie on ESPN's The Point prior to the Oilers-Stars game tonight.

Yes, visual the evidence.

I haven't heard either. It's pretty hush when it comes to the NHL.

Hak is too big an asset to hockey to be on the sidelines. Some team needs to see the light.

After what certainly felt like a rough patch all the way around for UND hockey, loving all of the positive news for future and past UND alums. Wishing Kleven and Malone tons of future success!

Howard Walker, Perry Nakonechny, Frank Burggraf, Tom Benson, and Craig Perry coached at Red River.  Perry also coached Fargo South, and Benson at Spring Lake Park in Minnesota.

Charlie Burggraf coached Gopher women hockey as an assistant and was HC at Bethel (D3) for a long time. Both men's and women's I believe. Was slated to coach in PWHL but stepped aside before it started.

He coached me in Little League and was awesome. He LOVED antagonizing over-enagaged opposing coaches; got a ton of laughs out of his team, our parents and the umps.

He was amazing at UND.  An agitator of the mind.  Plus scored/assisted on a fair number of goals.

He wasn’t just “slated” to be a head coach in the PWHL, he WAS the head coach of PWHL Minnesota until a week before the inaugural puck drop.  He dropped out on December 27th with PWHL Minnesota’s first game on January 3rd.

What you described is the definition of slated...? With the respect I have for the man I kept it vague. Based on the below quote from this article, he was allowed to leave with grace, and from what the whole article says it sounds like he dodged a bullet.

"When Charlie was let go and Ken came in..."
