The 23-year-old was a sixth-round draft pick of the Philadelphia Flyers way back in 2018 but after five years with the University of North Dakota, they did not offer him a contract. MacMillan, a native of Penticton, spent the last two years coaching the Summerland Steam in the KIJHL. Prior to that, MacMillan played professionally in the American Hockey League, ECHL, Sweden, Germany and Denmark. MacMillan spent four years at UND from 2011-15. He tallied 99 career points. MacMillan suffered a broken leg blocking a shot in late February of his senior year and missed the playoffs. Looks like Joseph is who they want to move but are going to have to give up something to get a team to take his $2.5 million contract.
