from what I read, babcock had the players select pictures themselves, of thier families and put them on the office tv as a play to get to know them.  He is probably aware of his reputation and thought it was a good way to get to know them.

that's not how i read it....

for an old school guy to say that getting to know someone means going thru their iphone photos instead of sitting down for a cup of coffee and having a CONVERSATION seems odd.

Yeah, I'm with Commie on this one.

#56 Gavin Hain – Center

The Wild have become intimately aware of the fact that the state of Minnesota is flush with skilled young hockey players and recently they have been taking full advantage; therefore, it is no surprise to find out Gavin Hain is from Grand Rapids. The 23-year-old was a sixth-round draft pick of the Philadelphia Flyers way back in 2018 but after five years with the University of North Dakota, they did not offer him a contract. He has had some trouble with injuries but his 11 goals in 36 games last season show he could have some offensive potential.

from Hockey writers.com I liked Gavin, nice kid. He was injured a lot.

Another former player in the coaching ranks:

Quote

Former UND alternate captain Mark MacMillan has been hired as an assistant coach for the Penticton Vees in the British Columbia Hockey League.

MacMillan, a native of Penticton, spent the last two years coaching the Summerland Steam in the KIJHL.

Prior to that, MacMillan played professionally in the American Hockey League, ECHL, Sweden, Germany and Denmark.

MacMillan spent four years at UND from 2011-15. He tallied 99 career points. MacMillan suffered a broken leg blocking a shot in late February of his senior year and missed the playoffs. MacMillan was UND's leading goal-scorer at the time of his injury.

OTT needs to get the RFA deal done with Shane Pinto. This is getting silly.

Seems OTT holds all the cards. Pinto is a 10.2(c) RFA

A player who does not meet the UFA requirements or the Group 2 RFA requirements displayed in the table above, and has been issued a qualifying offer, is designated a 10.2(c) player. The player is only eligible to negotiate and sign a contract with the club that holds their signing rights. They are ineligible to negotiate a contract (offer sheet) with any other club. They are also ineligible for arbitration.

Pinto signed when he was 18-21 y/o and only has two qualifying years of experience.

Might be good to make things like this known to future guys looking to sign early.

Wonder how close the Sens are gonna cut this one before the season starts?

They were probably banking on Batherson's cap space freeing up from a suspension. There was talk about the Hockey Canada players involved having some repercussions but nothing ever came of it.

Hockey Guy did i video breaking down the Sens roster. Looks like Joseph is who they want to move but are going to have to give up something to get a team to take his $2.5 million contract.

Sens did it to themselves as they have another player on a PTO they can't sign either.
