why do people even get so hyped to go to Mariucci.

No offense but U of Minnesota is a commuter school vibe and pretty lame game day environment for a blue blood. Their students just stand and barely say anything.

Give me Wisconsin, Maine, Michigan, Western Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State etc. before a game at Mariucci. Or if its the rivalry people wanna see, I'll wait for the games at the Ralph.

I don't know man.  When the big boy are in town the student section is loud and fun.  Don't look at this year's team or the end of the Lucia era for the answers to that one.....Motzko had Mariucci buzzing plenty during his 8 years.  Ausmus has even stated plenty of times how much he loves and hates the rouser after goals...

No disrespect to any of the crowds you mentioned, but Mariucci is legit when there's a buzz in the crowd and the pre-game bars within walking distance are a great time.

Grew up in the cities so it's home for me with plenty of people to see. Also much easier to get to than any of the schools you listed.

maybe kohl center can be big for their  fanbase but it still feels more “college” for me.

Kohl Center sucks compared to Mariucci if you're just talking arenas...but if you're talking campus and city, then UW > UMN.

So you have never actually been there for sioux gopher game i take it.  Because if you had you would know that there is zero merit in what you just typed.  But cool stay home , easier tickets for the rest of us

Mariucci is a great place to watch a hockey game. A lot of history on the walls to look at and the atmosphere can be electric when the Gophs are playing well and with all the UND fans at UND games you get  a pretty good pop when something goes UND's way as well. Love the open concourse and have spent a lot of time at Sally's and Stub and Herb's pre and post game.

Davis seems like one of those undrafted guys that we could be super glad was around for 3 or 4 years.  Also sounds like he fits exactly the mold Chyzyk and Co. are looking for.  (Thought it was hilarious he called Bryn "Mr Chyzyk" but also probably means he's got good character)
