Watched Michigan coach speak on Jayden Perron.

- called him a student of game and hockey nerd

- “learned how to be a hockey player this  year”

Suggests to me UND staff wasn’t getting as much out of him. Do we know why Perron didn’t work out here?

Also saw that Boser was 2nd in the country in blocked shots. That’s a stat that I can get behind too.

Ok this tidbit has completely changed my mindset on this fella. I had noticed the decent +/- and TOI for a bad team which was a good sign. But having a guy that is willing to sell out to shut things down gets me pumped up.

He was getting sat at the end of the year because he was turning over bad pucks. Berry’s style wasn’t great for him either. He needed to be in a more possession based offensive attack as opposed to chip and chase.

So bad fit for us system wise or Michigan coached him better ?

Maybe he meant to say:

Yeah, that makes me a bit more hopeful that he'll fit in nicely.
I'm hoping that he is willing to play a slightly lesser role (with TOI compared to his ASU season) this upcoming year (when our d-corps will be stacked again) and then fit into a larger role during his SR season...that'd be great.

Isn't that a stat you get in front of?  ;)

Watched Boser live 3x...2 at Ralph and once at ASU...this past season.  Good to get a western ND kid at UND but I thought he was "mid" (as the kids say) when I saw him live. Didn't stand out in any game.

In a good or bad way?

Thought I saw something that he was second in the nation in blocked shots. I could only confirm that he led the NCHC last season.... by nearly 20. Feels like a solid replacement for Big Z.

For a more defensive dman, that can be a good thing that he didn't stand out.  :)

I'll take a local kid that's willing to do the dirty work to help his team win.
Will be interesting to see the last couple dman pieces to see where he'll slot into the lineup.

Not sure what happened to thread on no conference schedule (mods must have deleted) but we need to get some better programs on schedule.

heard Michigan and Denver are playing eachother in future. Come on Dane, get Michigan, BC, BU in rotation.

The posts with the upcoming non-conf schedules are in this thread...just got buried a bit (on page 5).

I would rather renew our Wisconsin ties

Completely agree.  He's a lot like Jackson Blake where they aren't play in your end and ride out a 3-2 lead guys while abandoning the forecheck.

I thought he was Michigan's best player in their game against Denver.

He isn't a 200ft player, Parron is like Lucius all offense 0 defense
