  1. Moorhead kid too, so we're local for him. I'll never blame a fanbase for being upset about a transfer, but this one made too much sense for him on paper
  2. McKamey is a really interesting one. When he got exceptional status into the BCHL people talked about him like he could go #1 overall in 2027. Then he was good but not great for Penticton and struggled with some injuries before getting back on track toward the end of the year with Victoria. I have no idea what he will look like this year. I could see him playing himself right back into the first round or I could see him going undrafted
  3. I'll be very curious to see if DeMars makes a leap this year. I have seen a few scouts talking about him having first round potential. I don't see anything in his statistical profile that really suggests he's that caliber of player, but stats never tell the full story. He's certainly played well in this tournament
  4. Landing Reid would be worth it just for a shot at his little brother (Reid is a great player too though)
  5. Thompson is the best player listed there who I think we have the best chance at. Hope we put on the full-court press for him. Daley will be interesting. Hopefully all the bluechip d-men coming through here recently puts us more on his radar
  6. I think it is very rare to see a defenseman who's qualified to be one-and-done in college. Even if they make it as full-time NHLers the next year, they almost always look very overmatched. It's just the nature of the position. Levshunov is a good example of a guy that needed a lot more seasoning before he made the pro jump. I can't help but think another year, or maybe even two, at Michigan State would've been very helpful for him in terms of learning how to process the game and make better decisions
  7. For sure. You bring any one of those three back and that 2027-2028 roster is looking scary good. I'm not holding my breath, but stranger things have happened
  8. Sounds like the forward class for 2027 is complete now, so I would not expect a lot of news on the recruiting front for a while. What will be interesting to watch though is how the staff approaches the 2027 class on defense. Assuming we lose Emery, Carels, and Verhoeff, there will be a lot of minutes to be filled, particularly on the right side. As of now the only RHD we would have returning in 2027 would be Lindberg and the only RHD commit is Penner, who I don't think will be ready to come in. I'm hoping the staff is in contact with Levi Harper and/or Brock Cripps. Either of those guys could step in immediately and play big minutes on the right side. They are also more skilled, offensive types, which is what I think we'll be in need of
  9. I also didn't think we were in on Schneider, which is why I thought it was worth mentioning when it appeared in the Tribune. I wouldn't exactly call them college hockey insiders though, so maybe it doesn't mean much. Can't speak for Pue, but I have also heard we are in on Thompson. That would be another pretty impressive grab out of the cities if we could make it happen
  10. Gopher fans on Twitter are crashing out and complaining that UND is trying to “buy a national championship” I’d say that’s a pretty good sign that things are going well
  11. Article about Fitzhenry in the Tribune mentions that we are also battling the Gophers for Fred Schneider. I see he follows Chyzyk too. It’s interesting because I was under the impression we weren’t really in that race anymore. I also think there’s probably no room for him if we land the Rucks, unless he’d be willing to play one more year of juniors. Regardless, it’s good to see us in the thick of it for all these top names
  12. Unless he has a pretty disappointing draft year, I’d expect him on campus in 2027. It’s not common for a guy of his caliber to defer enrollment
  13. Don't quote me on this, but I seem to remember a story about how when he went on his visit there, Lucia made him wait in his car for some absurd amount of time. It was really bizarre
  14. This was my initial reaction too, but I wasn’t sure if I was just getting caught up in the moment. Upon review however, I think this may well be true
  15. Mismash is a good one. He never lived up to the hype, but that was a big deal when he committed. Can’t remember how involved Minnesota was with him. I’m sure they were very interested, I just don’t remember if it was mutual
  16. I was wondering if Boeser would count, but it sounds like Minnesota absolutely botched his recruitment in every way imaginable. So I'm not sure it's even fair to include that one
  17. When was the last time we won a head-to-head recruiting battle against UMTC for a metro kid? Brad's article said all four coaches went down and visited Fitzhenry recently. That should tell you everything you need to know about where Dane's head is at. He understands that the Xs and Os don't matter unless you've got the Jimmies and Joes. It's been a while since I've felt this good about the direction of the program
  18. The period of time between when the bat signal goes up and when we find out who we got is agonizing
  19. Great news for us as we obviously weren't getting them if they played college this year. Hope we continue recruiting them hard throughout next season
  20. Denver's right side is loaded. Lin, Rudolph, and Fiddler. Not to mention MacBeath and Jameison on the left. They'll be young, but wow is that a lot of talent.
  21. Rumor is that they were on campus recently. No clue if it’s true, but I’ve heard a few people say it
  22. Yes, I think BC makes the most sense for him from an opportunity stand point. Although as a Western Canadian kid, it is by far the farthest from home
  23. Rudolph has apparently narrowed his choices down to Denver, Michigan State, and BC. Him, Lin, and Fiddler all on the right side for Denver would be insane depth if it happens
  24. Was this a problem before offsides review though? I've been watching hockey a long time and I really don't remember this being any bigger of a problem pre-offsides review versus post
  25. I personally would be fine with know offsides review at all, in any situation. Would there be some missed offsides that lead to crucial goals? Of course. But let's be honest, the vast majority of missed offsides calls are off by literal centimeters. It's just not worth the collective breath holding we all have to do after an exciting goal that comes on a close zone entry
