Can't get excited about either one. Guy from Alabama will be looking to get out of GF and Danny will be looking for the next oppty to move up.

Will Danny raid the cookie jar when he leaves again

I know. Not what gets me excited for a transfer. Hopefully he’s amazing but he couldn’t crack the lineup at a !@#$ program

Agree,  but never know and will hope for the best. Flemming wasn't the top WR and NAU and the UNI RB was like 4th on their depth chart and both were really good at UND.

We don't know that.  The guy from Alabama might like it here. And Danny might find out that he might fit well here long term.

Danny has already been here long term and very seldom people from Alabama like ND or Mn.  On the + side Danny knows the recruiting area especially Wisconsin and he knows the MVFC. GF has more to offer than Brookings and maybe Spokane. Reportedly his family liked GF and the wr coach could open recruiting channels in the south. Overall quality of MV is getting stronger. UND has to keep getting better to keep pace. We'll see how that goes.

You obviously haven’t been to Spokane.

No game tape for the guy? Yikes

Few notes here. Retain and develop key players. I like the new portal dates better, but it seems less than ideal for programs trying to get pieces. Non-JUCO / D2 players have realistically a week to visit / commit. It's highly risky. You strike out a few times and you are SOL. Is there a lot of talent in the portal, yes. Is it easy to get them to commit in a short window, doesn't appear to be. You do not want to be an FCS program with a lot of holes to fill and think the portal is the way to do it.

That being said, there seems to be way less rhyme or reason to players that "hit" vs those that don't. Who would have thought that Fleming (4th WR on NAU) would have been the breakout star from last year's WR group? The JUCO guys on defense who were great last year. How highly recruited were they? I'm not going to get overly excited, but also won't be getting too down on anyone how commits. Wait and see.

Getting all these DB and safety tranfers makes me think Wiltshire, Scott and Martin won't be granted another year. Would be nice to have at least Wiltshire but all three would be big.

The way I see it, they could not risk waiting long. If they waited and they weren’t granted years, the secondary would be in a tough spot considering the timing of the portal.

Neither has Danny, since Washington State University is located in Pullman.

UND likes to regurgitate the same guys

Anyone know why Rodgers didn’t take Danny with to Iowa ? Recruited him to sdsu and took him with to Washington

Judging by how the WSU offense performed without Rodgers, I'd guess he and Danny were butting heads throughout the season regarding play-calling.

Thought Roehl would be a better option?

Given how quickly Schmidt has turned this program around, I am inclined to trust his decision-making.

I don’t believe he called plays at South Dakota State so probably saw Danny‘s evidence of calling plays last year and didn’t like it

He was pass game coordinator so yes he did call plays at SDSU. Get your facts straight.
