Cripes, this really is an instant gratification world we live in.

The problem is he clearly had thr better players and every reason to win that game but play calling and coaching was the difference when it mattered even despite the bad calls they got.

I was hoping with a new head coach we could quit turning W’s into L’s. So far we are 3 games into the new regime and we are still doing it. I’ll give them some time but the early returns are not encouraging.

I am glad they kept playing, but if you are up by 9 with under 10 minutes left, you at least don’t snap it until under 10 seconds, not at 20 seconds.

Also interesting that Herder has called out some of these similar type of calls in FCS/FBS matchups, but I doubt he'll mention anything here about just even being questionable or debatable.

Anyone have a still shot of the line of scrimmage with the illegal touching? I also don't think we attempted that play again after that?

Road woes have continued, the difference is that Bubba led teams lose both by a bunch. This one hurts though… Gave it away

After all the blame on the refs settles, I agree. This is the correct take. Cant leave that many points out there … team still needs to develop that killer instinct, but it is very very close …

Outside of the illegal touching, and a couple false starts, what were the stupid ass penalties? I don't think the horsecollar, or 2/3 DPI on last 2 drives can be considered when they didn't meet the requirements to be called at any other point of the game.

agreed.  we could have run an extra 2 minutes or so off the clock but snapped it with 15-25 seconds on the clock at times

Yes shouldn't had even mattered, but it did. There can be multiple things to blame. We could've absolutely took one of those things out of even consideration if we did our job earlier.

You leave it up to the home town stripes on military appreciation day late in the game and we all know the outcome.  

Honestly the way the playoffs work in FCS, why wouldn't you expect to see every away non-conference team get homered?  Each conference always begs for more teams in the postseason, calling PI on #5 hurts the conference.  Just a fact.

I’m not going to games at the Alerus because of Valpo, not UND. Went to the game last weekend for the team not because I wanted to see a good game. No reason not to go support this team this year

Need to improve. Need to develop a killer instinct in these games, but they’re close. These are lessons this team is still learning … this is only game 3. But it has now happened twice, albeit in hostile environments on the road. But no more excuses now in 2025. Need to start grinding out and winning all these roads games from now on.
