Popular Post UND-FB-FAN Posted yesterday at 04:52 PM Popular Post Posted yesterday at 04:52 PM Huge early season non-conference showdown: the only ranked team vs ranked team matchup in the FCS this weekend! Huge opportunity for UND football and Coach Schmidt’s program. The stage certainly won’t be too big. These are the games we need to elevate towards. Make the trip out to Missoula if you can, and if you can’t, turn on the broadcast or radio coverage and support the team to a pivotal early season victory! 2 pm (CT) kickoff Let’s Go Hawks! 4 4 Quote

Sioux94 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago They gonna crank some music inside during practice this week to try and prepare for noise at Montana? 2 Quote
Wilbur Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I think you've got something with Jerry running the ball. Get him running around a bit along with the RB by committee and then that opens things in the passing game. Head over heart. UND 27 Grizz 24 1 Quote
UND Football Fan Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago This will be a physical game, if we can scrap together drives like K State we can win this one. However, if we don’t move the ball, our defense, though improved some, may get worn down and we could falter down the stretch due to our depth issues on defense. I believe Montana will be better prepared for our run game, but our passing game will be the X factor for us to win this year. 2 Quote

Sioux94 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Isaac needs to figure out another wrinkle on that one misdirection play. Worked real well against Kansas State but once it was on film....PSU had it snuffed out...was like a 6 yard loss the one time. Maybe fake the misdirection and Jerry turns back and throws a screen back to the original direction the play was going. Now that Jerry has run a few times...they have to prepare....since he can and will run on some of those option plays. And that is exactly what we need, QB to have some success running it on the keeper. 1 Quote
sioux24/7 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago My main concern coming into this game is Eli Gillman (should be at UND). 15 for 198 and 3 TDs last weekend. Guys a beast. We managed to mostly hold him in check last year besides a 63 yard TD run. I guess on top of Gillman I would say the environment scares me a bit too. I know they played at KState already so they have the exposure but I think this could be just as tough of a place to play, if not more. Really wish I could have made the trip but I can’t wait to watch. 2 Quote

forksandspoons Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago It’s definitely going to be louder in Missoula than it was at Kansas State. Lot of new faces on this Griz team, but still a lot of older guys with experience. They’re going to be physical. They’ve got some good LBs, including Peyton Wing, the PSU transfer that UND offered this off-season. Also a USC transfer at LB. Quote
Dustin Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago This will be a tough game and I don't think we come out with a W. In fact, I think it'll be a bigger deficit than K State. We beat Montana last year as the inferior team, and I don't think it happens again. Quote

Win or lose, I don't see us folding like a cheap piece of lawn furniture like recent years. 2 1 Quote
AJS Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago New era. Clearly for the program, but I also feel it from the fanbase. Will they win this upcoming Saturday? Maybe. On the road in an elite atmosphere against a very good FCS team. Call UND slight underdogs. Also feel this is a good weekend to play them. UND w/ an extra game (including FBS opponent), Montana only playing one (against D2 opponent). Win or lose, they'll look like they belong. What an opportunity though. Get the feeling "nationally" people are buying into this new era. Win and things go into overdrive. 3 Quote

Never been to either, but I do know from someone who played at The Big House that 100,000 aren’t necessarily loud on the field even if they’re giving it their all. Geometry is a larger factor, especially in open air stadiums. WaGriz is notorious for being loud for opposing teams. Haven’t ever really heard about Snyder whatever stadium. 2 2 Quote
Sioux94 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I think we somewhat took the crowd out of it a little at Kstate as their fans wanted to dominate us and they weren't, so I think they were a little frustrated. I don’t have much reason to believe Montana is any better than we are right now, they do have home field advantage though. Previously in these type of road games I would be worried and think everything needs to go exactly right for us to win. And half of me was just praying we didnt get an embarrassing beat down. Feels different under Schmidt so far, and I'm expecting we win if we play a fairly clean game. This is the game where I think we'll find out where we are really at. But I guarantee if we do win, many will just say Montana is overrated. 2 Quote

Oxbow6 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago WaGriz is a blast. Very loud and fans right on top of sidelines and field. Been fortunate to have been to a number of big FBS games. WasGriz easily in my top 3 CFB atmospheres....been there a few times. Quote
