29 unanswered is Chernobyl category melt down. 

Sometimes it’s a matter of a team thinking they have it in the bag and losing a bit of focus and letting up, even if it is slightly.  They give up one score, no big deal, they give up another and they start playing not to lose and the other team starts to think they have a chance. Suddenly the ball of momentum is running down hill and is hard to stop.  Don’t know if that was the case here, but have seen it on many occasions.

I've seen it happen in all sports, at all levels.

The MVFC had a decent day with 4 wins out of 5.  Attendance was not that great at any of the games.  Ill St. (W) vs SE La. 3321 att.,  USD (W) vs Drake 3964 att.,  SDSU (W) vs. NH 3843 att., Tn Tech (L) vs. UND 4641 att.,  YSU (L) vs Yale 4869 att.

Tennessee Tech numbers are interesting. Crowd was all on one side and it certainly did not look or sound like 4,600 spectators. The reality about the first round is there will seldom be lots of students in attendance due to holiday weekend so if its outdoors it's not that much of an advantage (except for having to arrange travel and logistics).

UND had 6,500 against Sac State in 2023, which is higher than all on that list but still low for our standards. Thanksgiving weekend is tough

Back then we had to bid still I believe, so $1 tickets wouldn’t have made sense.

I’m sure that’s why 1st round tickets are sold with season ticket packages, at least get the ticket sold even if no one uses it. 
 

Somehow hockey get 11.5k for thanksgiving weekend game.

Season tickets have a lot to do with that hockey number don't you think? Was not aware that other schools do the first round playoff ticket included with season ticket package? If true SDSU had a lot of no shows.

There are some weird restrictions on what you can sell playoff tickets for. I think it is tied to what price tickets are sold for during the regular season, which may have also been a reason that UND lowered some of the SDSU tickets to $12 for the last regular season game.

He's pretty hurt that Payton didn't get offensive POY.  

Yet please remember Payton's performance at the Alerus against what he believed was a non playoff team.

His “NDSU went undefeated so that automatically means they should have won at least one of the major individual awards” take is weird. Typical Dom though.  Although Payton had a good year and probably wins in most years, Brungard absolutely deserved it. Polasek ended up winning coach of the year as well. 

 

As for DPOY, I can’t speak to if an NDSU player deserved it more over who was selected.

I mean all Brungard did was lead his team in passing and rushing and put up nearly 4,700 yards of total offense this season.    

Payton a very respectful 3,400 yards of total offense, and very much agree that most years he is the guy.

I look at it this way you take the player who is nominated for walter payton award off the team how will the team be without them. NDAC will still win 9 or 10 games with out Payton, you taken Brungard off YSU they dont win more then 5 game maybe. He's the best player in the country and anyone saying else wise is a bison fan. I would take Brungard in a minute, Payton is another system qb at NDAC.
