Dane Jackson named head coach

I am hoping one thing Jackson brings is that best players play, and that all things being equal, the player with the biggest upside plays. Who knows how many games that alone could change, nevermind a more aggressive mindset.

My personally belief, since Jax being announced we saw Livvers return, i’d be shocked to see James leave and maybe a few others. Ik Perron is still probs gone to Mich, but those who were on the fence, i’d bet money would stay

I always thought James would stay because he needs one more year before entering pro, especially with Grand Rapids being deep enough where Detroit might not offer him an ELC this year.

I think this year was an anomaly with the poorer PK...had a rough start and certainly didn't help that the nation's best shot blocker and the best PK guy on the team got hurt in game one.  Definitely improved toward the end of the season.  Usually UND's PK ranked near the top of the nation/league:

I know basically nothing about hockey but from the outside it looks like a lazy hire. 

It'll work out however it works out. But hiring the sidekick of the dude you just canned smells bad.

So having just read this one of two things happened this season or both.....BB became the shark bait as the season went along and/or all the players threatening to leave after he was let go basically quit on the season. 

Now the Jackson hire does little for me excitement wise going into next season but to give him the benefit of the doubt he could turn this thing around quickly as Livy's comments seem to suggest a locker room buy in. Still too much talent on that returning roster to look like a team that just went through the motions most nights.

At a minimum just hoping to watch a brand of hockey that is worth the increase in price per season ticket that was announced on Friday because no one felt they got their money's worth this past season.

The hiring of assistants will be key but IMO more importantly will be the team's captains. Two guys that must wear a letter next season.....Zmolek (if he can actually play) and Strinden.
