If Jackson is the one & has already been crowned, makes me wonder if the AD is drawing this selection process out awhile to give the illusion that he was considering many other options.

Well, if you can get away with almost anything and never held accountable, while enjoying one of the best arenas in the world..I guess I would be as well

I often think if they were constantly told to have consistent effort from start to finish of the game, and they failed to do so, I get the impression someone like Blais would make them hoof their gear to the city arena for practice to get them out of the cushy confines of the New Ralph and back to the roots of what built the program.

Even though I was hoping for real change, I am willing to give Jackson a chance.   I do wonder though if all the players and Alumni that are throwing their support behind Jackson are willing to buck up the buyout money if things look poor a couple years down the road.   And yes, I say a couple years, because I don't give someone that has been inside the program while it has deteriorated the same grace I would give a new coach.

I agree with this entirely, on both key points.

I wouldn't say Carle turned DU around they won the title the year before he started.

And Carle had a lot to do with it, which is why he was given the job.

Buyout is too far down the road.  Need to step up and increase NIL funding to give any new hire a chance.

From Schlossman's article today:

"The quick search has led many to wonder whether UND already has its next candidate lined up. According to multiple sources, that is not the case. It is an open search, which is why so many factions of alums have been contacting Chaves and Martinson to share their thoughts."

Schlossman also stated that interviews will begin this Friday. Sounds like the AD is listening to the alumni groups who were urging him to slow it down so the best choice can be made.

For those who only read Gfhockeys clickbait:

Heres the rest of the story:

Quote

UND's human resource department will screen the applicants, remove those who do not fit the required criteria and then deliver them to athletic director Bill Chaves.

The hiring process is structured by state law.

This is all part of the plan, to make us think it's not going to be Jackson. I told you guys they will announce Dane on Sunday.
