AJS Posted March 22 Posted March 22 I don’t ever recall an off-season with so much uncertainty. Worst case scenario is coaching staff stays intact and key players transfer. Ideally, news comes out soon that Berry will no longer be the coach and they are opening up to a national search. Timing isn’t great to get it done before portal opens. Players want to win, hope being they will wait for new hire and hear from him before making a decision. Things just don’t look good right now. Need to make a coaching staff change. 1 Quote
Oxbow6 Posted March 22 Posted March 22 If Zmolek is such a leader as you hear/read does his announcement to return next season pull any weight in the locker room with those considering leaving to stay? 1 Quote
90siouxfan Posted March 22 Posted March 22 I have mixed feelings about Zmolek, love his play, grit, determination, but I fear him getting hurt again and a roster spot tied up in a LT injured player. 2 Quote

SIOUXELEVENS Posted March 22 Posted March 22 But he is Berrys favorite, can do no wrong. Takes a really dumb 5 minute major in ASU and costs UND the game and never misses a shift. If players went going to boycott he would not have sat the St. Cloud series. Berry loves the grinders. 1 Quote

Just think, Croal could have been a regular as well. 27 had zero goals and contributed very little after the first month of the season. If true, multi-layered screw up by Berry. Cannot emphasize how bad he is at this. 1 Quote
SIOUXELEVENS Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Well now the coaches have all kinds of time to find more grinders that Berry loves. Quote
Oxbow6 Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Per BB the 5th is a "everydayer"....that can be taken a couple ways based on this season. Quote

I don’t believe so. Things inside the walls of the Ralph are worse than most realize. Time for a complete reset. Quote

SIOUXELEVENS Posted March 22 Posted March 22 The athletic director should be aware of what’s going on with the hockey team right?right? Quote

If you have marginal talent and don’t score much come to UND because Berry will embrace you and you will play in every game. 1 Quote
Godsmack Posted March 22 Posted March 22 I’ll be interested to listen to Schloss and Feldy’s podcast this week and beyond. I wonder if they’ll express any of the same sentiments as the fans here or if he will cite statistics that say we should’ve won the game last night. Quote
siouxweet Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Somewhere I couldn't find it again but there was mention of allegedly bringing in a lot of CHL players. I pay almost no attention to juniors. Are CHL players an upgrade over USHL players? Quote
SIOUXELEVENS Posted March 22 Posted March 22 I understand that UND will not win every game or win a championship every year but they should be competitive and not miss the NCAAS every other year. The game has passed our coaching staff by , DU, ASU and western play a way different style then Berrys teams do. 1 Quote

If I’m an ASU, DU, or WMU season ticket holder, I’m loving the product they put out on the ice. Fast, aggressive, entertaining hockey. Players and coaches going into games believing they will win every one of them. 5 Quote

Godsmack Posted March 22 Posted March 22 As a CC fan, I’ll be watching closely as Mayotte has a lot of holes to fill and as of late has shown he will tap into the transfer portal. Losing some key forwards due to graduation and early signings, I’ll be curious to see if any UND players end up in Colorado Springs. Quote

It’s one thing to go into the portal to get more exposure, playing time, NIL, etc…it’s another thing to bail on a toxic environment. Albeit a coach or locker room. Scary offseason coming. Quote

USHL was the best junior league that maintained college eligibility until that all changed...You will find first rounders in both the USHL and the CHL, but the CHL usually produces significantly more. 1 Quote
