GoodGood Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago With end of the year meetings happening now, I’m sure we’ll be getting some transfer portal news soon. Quote
Dustin Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago IF Eaglestaff is as loyal as some might think, my desires for the portal is build something around him for next year. If he takes his payday (which I don't think anyone can blame him), then it's pretty much a complete overhaul, yes? 1 Quote

I don’t think it would be a complete overhaul but the staff would definitely need to hit the portal harder than they have in the past to find guys that can help big time. You would still have Panoam, King, & Mara to build around. Find a stud wing that can score the ball and an actual big guy. That has been the missing piece. This staff needs to finally get a legit big man. Enough of guys like Amar or TT as our 5 man. 1 Quote
GoodGood Posted 21 hours ago Author Posted 21 hours ago Another question is will Amar utilize his extra year from the Juco ruling? My opinion is please move on from him. It’s time we bring in a real center. I don’t believe Mayar will get an extra year because he spent 3 years in Juco and the ruling has a 5 year clock 3 Quote

Can you give me your ideal off-season, if you were the GM. Who would you push to the portal vs keep? Quote

Who would you push to the portal vs keep? Players I’d like to stay: Kraft, King, Panoam, Woodson, & Mara. Amar, Reggie, Natsvishvili, and the rest of the redshirt freshman class can go. Like @HoopsFan03 said, you’ll need to find a wing that can score the ball, a couple big guys, and a backup point guard. Should be fine at the forward spots with Mara, Woodson, Curtis twins, and Ouse. 2 Quote

Kab Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Are the freshman who couldn't play a minute walkons? Quote
UNDhoops Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago i'm sure eaglestaff is gone. the ability to make as much money as he could and play power 4 basketball would be hard to pass up and i wouldnt blame him for doing so. in terms of who to bring in, ultimately you're not going anywhere without point guard play and UND hasnt had those guys for awhile. having a good big guy and wings is great but without a point guard it doesn't really matter Quote

You need a stud wing so you have someone to score the ball. Without that it is pretty much just Panoam. You need a big guy to protect the paint and help our overall team defense. This season our starting center had 1 block in all of conference play……yes you read that right. Last year our starting center had 3 blocks in all of conference play….. Our team defense is always going to stink until we get an actual big guy. These undersized 6’6” centers are not going to cut it. 2 Quote
FSSD Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago I would say three needs: Point, Shooting Guard and Center. Quote

I think there’s upside to his game but it feels like all he wants to do is chuck 3s and celebrate. 2 Quote

forksandspoons Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Eaglestaff officially in the portal. Selfishly I am bummed, but don’t blame him one bit. He can get life changing money. He will certainly represent ND well as he always has and I will follow him wherever he ends up. Good luck Trey!! 4 Quote

UND1983 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Good for him. Get that money and move on to a winning program 1 Quote
F'n Hawks Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Anybody else that would transfer that would hurt? Panoam maybe? Quote
GoodGood Posted 18 hours ago Author Posted 18 hours ago Knew it was coming but still bummed out about it. But also so happy for him. All his success couldn’t happen to a better kid. Really hope he goes to where he’s needed and not just wanted Quote
UND-FB-FAN Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago You have a high-level talent that gets numerous offers, thus enters the portal, and yet your team with said talent goes 12-21 (5-11) in 2024-25? Where’s the deficiency? 2 Quote
Popular Post HoopsFan03 Posted 18 hours ago Popular Post Posted 18 hours ago Super happy for Treysen!! Excited to see where he goes and follow along next year! He’s a great kid and big advocate for ND basketball! 1 5 Quote
Dustin Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Bummer. I know the Bison had to deal with the same thing with Nelson, but man does it make it hard to get ahead as a program. Mediocrity (or worse) forever! Quote

Mediocrity (or worse) forever! If anything this is good for a program. This is the ultimate selling point to any high level high school recruit that may not be getting the P4 offers they are hoping for. You tell them to come to UND and play well for 2-3 years and then you can transfer to whereever you want AND get paid. That’s what the good coaches at this level are doing and will do. 3 Quote
