UND1983 Posted Sunday at 09:31 PM Posted Sunday at 09:31 PM It's embarrassing to assume this but do UND football fans actually have higher expectations than the hockey fans do? What has happened to this program smh 2 Quote

What has happened to this program smh Some people here have been conditioned to accept playing second and third fiddle to other programs and attribute failure to the absence of "luck". Ralph Engelstad used to say "The harder I work, the luckier I get." We need to get back to that thinking. 2 Quote
gfhockey Posted Sunday at 10:26 PM Posted Sunday at 10:26 PM We are complacent with not making the tourney cuz at the end of the day they are STUDENT athletes 1 Quote
90siouxfan Posted Sunday at 10:29 PM Posted Sunday at 10:29 PM I don't think any fans, or staff, or players are complacent, more likely, imho, is what steps get things going in the right direction.... Quote

I wonder if he just knows its over for his buddy. that's got to be a crappy feeling Or maybe he was just tired of watching it all too, who knows bad sign if Hennesey if ready to jump off the ship. He doesn't have many broadcast years left either. Going to be some big changes coming all around soon I'd think.... 1 Quote

The best player Sasha, gets maybe 30-40 seconds of PP time on the second group, and doesn't see the ice as much as he should. Sasha should transfer so he can show the country the talent he has. Would not be surprised to see him leave after this year. He should. Either go pro or the portal. BC, Western Michigan, Minnesota, or God forbid, ......Denver. 1 Quote

Regardless of the coach, another year under the belt of Swanson, Boisvert, Perron and Livanavage, along with the addition of Zellers and Laurila and you have a nice group of skill. Most guys take a bit to figure it out and become real confident, and I think Swanson can really take that big step next year. Boisvert has really met expectation, but he hasn’t got as much support from the upperclassmen as we need to be successful. 2 Quote

Also, if they stick around, I could see nice improvements from James, Strinden, Strathmann, and even OMac. They all have the skill...we've seen it... Quote

Yes, he was paired with Blake...but he was also playing a different position. Put him with some skilled players and back at center...I bet he could get some decent numbers again next season as a SR. 1 Quote

Irish Posted yesterday at 02:58 PM Posted yesterday at 02:58 PM Player development is becoming a serious concern - which is ironic given our facilities and coaching experience. We should have way more threads like "wow, did he every develop into a stud" than "but he looked so good when we recruited him". Sadly this is not so anymore. Combine this with what appears to be our new style of play - sloppy, soft, poor passing, not putting the puck on net, etc and you have this dumpster fire. What gives? Our program should be way better than that. It can't be just Berry - this must be a team effort. 1 Quote
SIOUXELEVENS Posted yesterday at 03:26 PM Posted yesterday at 03:26 PM I question what do practices look like , pond hockey and goofing around ? With lack of skills during games they can’t be working on it in practice. Quote

All these players should have good seasons yet most don't produce on the ice. We realized after Denver won the natty last year how much actual depth they had with how many players with 20 points or more. Something we haven't had since the 19-20 and 20-21 seasons. Quote

MafiaMan Posted yesterday at 05:55 PM Posted yesterday at 05:55 PM @Oxbow6 @Wilbur I didn’t pay attention to Saturday’s game but here we go again with the usual sleepwalking thru the end of periods… WMU scores at the 18:01 mark of the 1st and the 19:44 mark of the 2nd. Unbelievable. Quote
