Popular Post Wilbur Posted January 12 Popular Post Posted January 12 Two points in the valley of the Sun....could've been worse, could've been better. At the present time UND is 19th in the PWR, and tied for first in the all important league standings. In comes highly ranked Western that could give us a boost with wins at home. You probably aren't going to beat them without a #fullsixty. After Saturday I'd assume Hedquist in the net on Friday and we go from there. They'll likely go Rowe-Hammer like they have most of the year. I'll be happy with 4 points. Two regulation wins not likely with how this group has played this year, but I'd be okay with being surprised. 6 Quote
Wilbur Posted January 13 Author Posted January 13 I was wondering why nobody had offered insight yet, but I had no idea that Bubba/Armacost/Chaves saga had infiltrated into the ASU series page. The football only folks get pissed when hockey gets brought up in those threads, this has got to be progress on that front right? Series split. We win Friday, then Hammer wins Saturday and we all complain that the GOBC didn't reel him in after his dad played here. 1 Quote
cberkas Posted January 13 Posted January 13 We beat Rowe but lose to Hampton playing in front of friends and family. Quote

Can't handle something else being the marquee program...? As they say at Conte Forum, sucks to BU! Quote
farce poobah Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Probably won't happen, but I would love to hear Jason Herter's thoughts on how working for Ferschweiler compares to Sandelin. Another weekend where stopping the opponents special teams is critical. Quote

Wilbur Posted Wednesday at 11:18 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 11:18 PM Word of the day today at the press conference was "resiliency. Getting Saturday's game to OT and then winning in OT a big deal around these parts nowadays. I'd imagine a win Friday would vault us to maybe 17 in the PWR. Would a sweep perhaps put us in the top 15? Quote
burd Posted Wednesday at 11:50 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:50 PM Is there a thread for single game hockey tickets? Mrs b and I are giving some thought to driving up for Saturday’s game. Quote

I think it was mostly a case of little brother following big brother. As soon as Grant went portal at Northern Michigan, Hammer was right behind him. Grant didn't light it up right away in the USHL until he got into his third year, and by then he had already committed to Potulny. I can't imagine being Warroad kids that UND didn't at least put a call out when Grant went into the portal, but I don't know. 1 Quote

Their dad Tim played at UND in 1994-95 and then went to the Candian College hockey. 1 Quote

brianvf Posted Friday at 03:00 AM Posted Friday at 03:00 AM Appears the UND missed out on Zach Nehring from Minot. He has almost as many points this season as a FR for WMU than he did all of last season in the USHL. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/western-michigan-brings-size-to-first-place-battle-with-und Quote Western Michigan has gotten exceptional goaltending this season from the duo of Cameron Rowe (.931 save percentage) and Hampton Slukysnky (.941). The Broncos have been using one each night. Offense won't come easy this weekend. Western Michigan's goalies have not allowed more than three goals in any game this season. Seriously impressive seasons from both of those goalies so far. Let's hope we get some bodies in front of them. Quote

Morelli, Rauhauser, Nehring....just to name a few. The next one is Colin Grubb from Minot who is currently on Shattuck's 16U team with 44 points in 38 games with only 8 minutes in the box as a center. Got a chance to make the NTDP next year with teammates Soller and Fitzhenry. 1 Quote

burd Posted Friday at 12:48 PM Posted Friday at 12:48 PM Huge opportunity to help themselves this weekend. The fruit may not be low-hanging, but it's large, it's ripe, and it can be reached. 1 Quote

Could say they missed Max Vig (Bemidji commit) as well but seems those western Nodak kids don't fall into the Sioux Falls Power marketing program too often, maybe they just need the agent the West Fargo kids are using.
