Lewis would be a huge get. He was second team all Big Sky on a pretty good NAU team 3 Quote

I guess pulling a starter away from the Jacks would be a decent reason. 1 3 Quote

Would solidify the UND offensive line amongst all five starting spots and offensive line is the most important position group in all of football. Would be a major step towards giving UND a consistent offensive effort that raises the floor of the 2025 season and helps out Schmidty’s defense in year one of the 4-2-5 transition. I also excuse the guys who left following 2023 as the program was headed in a horrible direction (and hence a 5-game losing streak and a losing season in 2024). You don’t extend a lame duck coach, lose the current offensive coordinator of Washington State and head coach heir apparent to a rival in a lateral move, and lose your newly hired replacement offensive coordinator alum to your rival within one week without some guys rightfully saying what the f*ck? Anything else? 1 3 Quote

It’s up to the kid to earn the respect back of his teammates. The look of a team from coaching staff to players will change so much from year to year now so holding a grudge isn’t worth it. People leave jobs and come back all the time. 6 Quote

Popular Post forksandspoons Posted yesterday at 03:31 PM Author Popular Post Posted yesterday at 03:31 PM 1) take a starter away from SDSU OL (they took Danny, Rouse, Pabst, Hagen, etc. from us). Do it back. Should be going after Walters as well 2) ask him what they’re doing as a program that will help UND leapfrog them 7 Quote
UND1983 Posted yesterday at 03:31 PM Posted yesterday at 03:31 PM Can we really blame him for leaving after what we saw last year from Bubba and this team? 2 1 Quote

I'm pretty much a 'don't let the door hit you in the arse' guy but I'd welcome him back. Local guy, great player and the landscape of college fb has changed so much lately that I think we need to get with the times and get better any way we can. And............I randomly connected with his family at tailgating 2 years ago and they always had a big party going and offered up great food and drinks to me. 5 Quote

The tough part of saying this is on the personal side I like, admire, respect Bubba. I have known both Bubba and Schmidty for a long time, it's been an interesting dynamic. But pro-Schmidty 100%, we needed new perspective and leadership. 5 Quote

Bubba is a good guy, it’s just that [apparently] being a good guy doesn’t entitle you to being a good to great head football coach in 2024/25. Sometimes you have to make your own luck which involves hard decisions. The best way ain’t the easiest way. Onward. Schmidty is a guy to admire and respect in his own right, which everyone knows, and here’s to hoping his way is the right way for UND. 1 Quote

But there’s no doubt this helps you get the right guys in the building (recruiting). Win-Win 1 Quote

As for Sam Hagen’s final year of eligibility, he’s staying with South Dakota St. in 2025 it seems. Oh well, UND has 4 returning starters on the offensive line, continuity at O coordinator and offensive line coach, and some decent depth. Quote
