Nodak78 Posted December 12 Posted December 12 what is nice about Schmidt. He had internal drive to run through brick walls. He and his coaching staff will recruit and develop players to run through brick walls. Huge opportunity for UND players and excitement for fans. Looking for championships. 1 Quote
FSSD Posted December 12 Posted December 12 Well couple of things from the AD interview: UND/NDSU are the only schools with Alston. UND at $1 m per year for the athletic department. Pool for the assistants is now the second highest in the MVFC. 4 Quote

I don’t know what to prefer but seems like he needs to turn over at least half so players know that things have changed not same old same old In the interview with UNDfootball360 he talks about going thru the formality of the hiring rules. Sounded like it will take a week or two but is bringing in a number of new people. Quote
Nodak78 Posted December 12 Posted December 12 Tom Miller reports coach will have about 80% staff in about 6 to 8 days. New position recruiting coordinator solo responsibility. DeBoer used this and one of his first positions filled in Bama was the recruiting coordinator. This will be huge. 3 Quote
GoHawks Posted December 12 Posted December 12 Tom quotes that internally he will have 8 out of 10 guys hired in 6 days. Does that mean he's keeping 8 guys already on staff? Quote

Does that mean he's keeping 8 guys already on staff? No. They wouldn't have to go through interviews and hiring process on internal candidates. We'll see how many he keeps but I'd be surprised if it was 8. Quote "There's some university procedures and protocols we have to go through," Schmidt said Wednesday morning. "We're doing interviews on key positions (Wednesday) and (Thursday). Internally, we'll probably have eight of our 10 guys accepting positions in the next five or six days. We have a few things we're working out in negotiations, but we're really close." 2 1 Quote
F'n Hawks Posted December 12 Posted December 12 I took that the other way and that there might be 2 staff members retained 1 Quote
UND Football Fan Posted December 12 Posted December 12 What I see with Schmidt is that he expects his coaches to adhere to his beliefs. If you are not committed to with 12 months a year you will not be retained. I can see a few stay and possibly one moved to recruiting coordinator. Quote
UND-FB-FAN Posted December 12 Posted December 12 I drove down University Ave. and Columbia Rd this morning and I smelt a new aroma of excellence coming from the Hyslop at Memorial Village! Big things are comin’ !!! Expect new coaches that know a winning culture and attitude. Some retention will be there. 1 Quote
