Like buning  allowing a $25000 buyout when Idaho state backed out of a football game

No clue. There are plenty of easier teams than those from the MVFC or Big Sky that P4 teams can schedule but the FCS teams want to play as regional as they can for recruiting and fan purposes. I'm sure there is value in that from the FCS side. Without seeing the contracts, who knows if they are even apples to apples?

If it was that simple, why did NDSU agree to only $25K more that they would have got 8 years prior (2020 vs 2028), but still $5K less than Montana State is getting this season when the OU/MSU contract was signed a year before NDSU renegotiated? Shouldn't NDSU have been able to get more for a 2028 game since they knew the "going rate" for a 2025 game?

Looks like both USD (ISU) and SDSU (Nebraska) didn't reschedule their FBS games for 2020, however there were already future meetings scheduled between both of them. MSU (Utah) also looked like they lost their FBS games from that year without rescheduling and I don't think UM had one scheduled.

Again, this seems like a stretch to be upset about but whatever I guess.

I hesitate to keep this thread going but isn't it possible KState is paying for UNDs transportation and accommodations?

So you feel they are paying for something over and above what the contracts states, with public money?

Ignorance is bliss. Oh, and coaching matters (by the way, they do the recruiting in collegiate athletics). This isn’t tee-ball. Just look at the overhaul in UND hockey and football recruiting and player management over the past 6 months … coincidence that coaches changed also? No.

They also decide who gets to be on the team or not, who starts or not and who gets playing time or not. The team you ultimately end up with is on the coaching staff. Not on the team captains.

My point was it's not uncommon for a host team to pay for additional expenses above the game guarantee. Not saying it happened but it does.
