As a reminder, it is difficult to just support both, as they do compete head-to-head. His predecessor was quite one-sided despite the outside sentiment of supporting both. We’ll see with 2025 Kelly … I’m hopeful, although the Lets. Go. Bison. look is a bad start. I guess supporting NDSU for big program games like NCAA title is acceptable. However, if it’s UND vs NDSU, I hope he would promote UND Quote

If Armstrong is at an NDSU basketball home game while we are playing for an FCS title, it will be clear which side of his bread has butter on it. Quote

He needs votes in Fargo you know. He is the ONLY person in the State who has to publicly support both teams/ town/ schools. Quote

Popular Post SiouxFan100 Posted January 5 Popular Post Posted January 5 My guess is that Armstrong will support both teams equally. Along with all North Dakota schools. I think this is a nonissue and to be expected. 6 Quote

Popular Post Hans8891 Posted January 6 Popular Post Posted January 6 Kelly is a good friend of mine. I guarantee you that he is a strong UND supporter. No Governor of this state is going to fail to support one of its two largest universities is playing for a national championship. He would have to be an idiot not to do that from a political standpoint. WHEN we get to the point of making it that far, I would not be surprised if Kelly makes the pilgrimage to attend. Kelly has been at our tailgating trailer for UND football many times and I expect will do so in the future - just not during pheasant season…. He goes to Sioux hockey games as well. 13 Quote

TheFlop Posted January 7 Posted January 7 It's too bad Chaves had to let this thing hit rock bottom before bringing in Schmidt. Schmidt (or a Schmidt like candidate) should have started 2-3 years ago. Watching this game and the NDSU/SDSU game makes a guy realize how far away UND is. 2 Quote

You are correct, FB is in a slightly better spot having won zero playoff games in 11 seasons. 7 Quote
