Oldguy Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Enough failure. Let's get this over with and bring in someone who can ACTUALLY build on the program's great history. 1

Those are "A" programs who keep building even after coaching changes. Which UND for whatever reason does not have. Current DU head coach: been there for 5 "NCAA tournament years".... Who's currently 35 Years old....has already had.... 3 Frozen Four appearances. 2 National Championships. That's my grade "A" and a "program builder"... ...just like (it seems) every NDSU Football coach who they hire.

Blackheart Posted March 22 Posted March 22 37 minutes ago, Cratter said: OK you rate him an A. I reserve that type for guys who win more than one Frozen Four game in game in 11 Years (and never winning a FF game after year one) but that's just me. Theres no hypotheticals in these scenarios. We have 11 years of actual Hakstol data to show what he can do as UND head coach. He literally never "built the program to higher grounds (in peak data points)." Follow me for more as we talk more about the "mean, median, and mode" for those who fell asleep through statistics class. Sorry, never did well in stats. 1

In the grand scheme of life hockey is a sport, a athletic game and with regards to UND a game played by young men who are college students, athletes who are hockey players. I love UND hockey and cherish the great history and all the titles too. I understand the venting that these forums are for but in my opinion this topic is useless. Berry will not be coach someday and und hockey is not going away. Im disappointed in tonight's loss, but I'm going to show sportsmanship and continue to support the program without all the negativity!
90siouxfan Posted March 22 Posted March 22 I'm hoping KEM pulls B-Rad to UNLV to take that program to D1.
Popular Post Oxbow6 Posted March 22 Popular Post Posted March 22 25+ years season ticket holder in multiple UND sports and my interest in the hockey program has never been so meh and apathetic. Got to that point with FB awhile back and made changes to my entertainment dollars investment there.....don't regret it for a second. Close to the same move with hockey. This program is a shell of itself from two decades ago. By my own admission I used to be pissed traveling to a F4 to watch the team lay an egg. Now I'll walk into Scheels for a regional on Thursday to watch 4 teams and UND isn't one of them.....again. It's beyond pathetic. I miss the F4 appearances and having the semifinal game over after a period.....but at least UND was relevant then. 3 9

Our head coach is a product of the good ole boys network of UND athletics. You can never be comfortable in any leadership position. If our AD is comfortable where our hockey program is at then we get another year of comfortable UND hockey. This is exactly where football was at before a move. Does Berry love the program enough to step down? 1 4

SIOUXELEVENS Posted March 22 Author Posted March 22 I’m sure glad Berry didn’t bring those loser Slukynsky brothers in, dodged a bullet there. 1
Godsmack Posted March 22 Posted March 22 What’s baffling to me were all the slow starts in Friday night games. My god, you prepared (supposedly) all week long for this and then you come out of the gates lethargic and disorganized. Unacceptable. Sadly, it came to be expected by me every weekend series. I pin that on the coaches just as much as the players, maybe more. 2
Popular Post Bush11 Posted March 22 Popular Post Posted March 22 This is a deeper issue than just a head coach. The whole athletic program at UND is in shambles. They have the facilities in place for football, basketball & hockey to win, but the personnel needed to win are currently not in place. Maybe now in football, but both the men’s and women’s basketball programs are a joke and we all see how far the hockey program has fallen. The first move should be to get a new AD and then work down. The excuse will be NIL, transfer portal, etc….but all programs have to deal with those issues and it should not be used as an excuse. No more excuses, it’s time to right the athletic ship at UND. 10

yzerman19 Posted March 22 Posted March 22 10 hours ago, Oxbow6 said: Schloss just tweeted 31 wins if you went by xG So in 31 games this season our expected goals for were greater than our expected goals against? This is then about execution. Falls on the shooters and the tendy's ability to score when they should score and stop the pucks they should stop. That stat would say that the "systems" are working and resulting in the mathematical likelihood of winning, however this isnt math class, you gotta execute on the ice.
tnt Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Funny how Scott Arniel didn’t bring Berry on as an assistant coach with Winnipeg after getting fired in his first stint in Columbus with Berry as assistant. Seems like he made the right decision, as Winnipeg is flourishing while UND has fallen out of the top ten college programs.

They have some serious issues right now, like not having enough money to pay the football coach his last 2-3 years of his contract and they still owe on the football stadium they don't play in. I'd like to see them make the jump, but they have some things to take care of first.

The Tick Posted March 22 Posted March 22 And the Michigan goalie had divine intervention, played out of his a@#. The Fighting Sioux beat Michigan by every statistic that game I believe! But, guess what, Michigan scored twice, one being an empty netter and the Sioux lost. That is hockey. BUT, Berry does not play the players that give the Sioux the best chance to win. WHERE WAS CROAL, and THE LINEUPS, What? He, along with the UND administration have made North Dakota Hockey just another college hockey program in college hockey. Fire his !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yzerman19 Posted March 22 Posted March 22 if you don't live in ND, NDSU football is dogshit No chippa ever thinks of NDSU or any other ND University? college? whatever the !@#!$ secondary education programs go by. Jamesotwn? Mary? Minot? 90% of the country has never heard of them. The only institution that was ever on the map from our state was UND hockey
