Relax….they just need to learn how to play together and we are a 2nd half team

One, UND was a second half team under Hakstol and he hasn't been the coach in ten years.  Two, Cornell somehow managed to sweep us with their first two games of the year....you'd think we'd have a huge advantage of "playing together" versus them at this point in the season.

The season isn't over, but the sooner they figure it out the better.

Opps, you are correct. My damn kidney stone surgery yesterday has sucked some of my brain power.

Post has been edited.

No worries man, hope your recovery goes ok.
I've been there...dealt with kidney stones three times in my life so far.  One of those things you wouldn't wish upon anyone.
Take care!

Thanks, I appreciate it.

I am doing good. Resting at home, as the doctor instructed.

I'm seeing 1-3 with the way we are playing

That sounds pretty accurate.
Some really good UND teams haven't swept UMD in Duluth.
And DU is rolling teams right now, and making it look easy.

There are no more resources we can possibly give Berry and his players that I'm aware of.  They have everything.

Except heart. They're missing Blake's & Johannes' passion. No sparkplug on this team.

For whatever reason, they can't find it in themselves to get motivated to play an entire game. Plus whatever Berry is telling them certainly isn't working, it's having the opposite effect.

And next weekend, we can look forward to a triple header losing trifecta with SDSU coming here for FB and us traveling to UMD for hockey. Meanwhile, the "My Oh My" show is ramping up at NDSU again. If this isn't rock bottom for UND athletics, it's pretty close.

What these 2 programs need is for tomorrow to be Black Sunday and Berry and Bubba are given their walking papers.  Chaves is to big of a p@$$y to do that being the weakest AD in the country.

I’ll disagree with you here because Jammer is truly the heart and soul of this team. He’s the captain and is owning that role by going all in every night. He willed his way to that 2nd goal in a way no other skater on our team could have tonight.

That goal was all him.
Despite a pretty horrid offensive team showing, Jammer, James, and Boisvert had their chances.  Those three stood out more than the others.

It's crazy how Berry has everything needed to succeed and yet still fails at times. It's really a joke how unsuccessful this program has been on the national stage since the ralph was built.

Berry gets his fair share of talented players, but for whatever reason he is unable to mold them into a cohesive unit a lot of the time. It's like having a huge jigsaw puzzle, but not knowing how to put all the pieces together. Whereas coaches like Carle have zero problems integrating everything; he innately knows how to maximize the efforts of the players he has...Having a world-class facility & elite players doesn't mean anything unless the man behind the bench can harness their talents effectively.

Don't know what to think about Bubs...Obviously started out great leading Hak's recruits to the 2016 title. (when Hak could not in many tries) I'm sure the guy bleeds Sioux green but our NCAA record since 2016 has been atrocious.  Covid screwed at least two squads out of legitmate shots at the final; one year where they canceled the tourney and the other against Duluth after Michigan got busted for being the cheating as*holes that they are.  Penrose Cups are nice but this is North Dakota; we play for National Championships.  I'm going to follow them the entire year but gotta say it's just a little bit frustrating losing to programs that we have traditionally dominated.  WTF?

Was hoping that Hobie would take the goalie reins with his chance tonight, but seems like both he and TJ let in some softies this weekend.
Goalie battle is still alive...really hoping that one of them starts stringing together some good games in a row.

Hopefully starting next weekend.

There were a couple softies…and that happens. The far bigger issue is offensive consistency and team d structure. Effort/heart could also be lumped in there. From what I’ve seen this year, they are no where near a championship team, but it’s early I suppose. Doesn’t pass the eye test with how they play.
