stoneySIOUX Posted September 30 Posted September 30 My guess for the lines on Saturday: Kunz-Berg-Perron Swanson-Omac-James Boisvert-Wilkie-Croal Strinden-Jammer-Schmaltz Littler-Andrew-Monty Zmolek-Livananvage Emery-Weibe McDonald-Strathman/Jubeville/Komzak TJ Hobie Cheese Quote

He has earned more opportunity then that. I would love to see a James-Strinden-Perron line but I don't think it's happening with the abundance of centers this year. Strinden will most likely have to play wing. 4 Quote

On the plus, our third and fourth lines are going to be a MASSIVE strength and advantage over our opponents in most games. Quote

Let's start there. : ) Different reasons for failure in different seasons, of course, but still think that the main glitch with this team the last 8+ years is that they were mentally peaking too soon, more so than just having bad luck. Good news is that Berry seems to have finally realized this & is putting more focus on a national championship, not treating the Penrose like it's the Holy Grail. Kudos to him for his insight & willingness to grow, not easy for an old dog his age to change course. Sometimes all it takes is a tiny change in perspective like this to make a big difference & put a team over the top. 1 Quote
siouxfan512 Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Really looking forward to seeing the boys back on the ice, but loving that my 10 year old son is absolutely pumped for the season to start. Sharing that makes it even better! That being said .... its a football weekend .... Friday night will just get my sport appetite started for the weekend .... Saturday is the big game! Then hopefully the Vikes can wrap it up for me. Am I really asking for too much here? 3 Quote
brianvf Posted October 1 Posted October 1 I'd imagine we'll see a sampling of some of the early line combos during tomorrow night's scrimmage during fan fest. Quote
brianvf Posted October 3 Posted October 3 Quote There's a chance the three players who were held out of Tuesday's controlled scrimmage could be back for Saturday's exhibition. UND coach Brad Berry said at Wednesday's press conference, "I think there's a high likelihood," that Ben Strinden, Bennett Zmolek and Hobie Hedquist will be available against the Vikings. "It was just kind of precautionary yesterday," Berry said, "not wanting to put them in a situation where maybe it was too soon." Quote
Popular Post Johnny Five Posted October 3 Popular Post Posted October 3 Pretty cool tidbit regarding this game...brothers Hayden and Tyler Hennen from Hallock will be playing. The first a defenseman who spent time in Calgary Flames camp this past summer, the latter a forward who is a rookie. Their family, long time UND Hockey season ticket holders. There will be around 300 with Hallock ties there to watch the brothers, many of whom are also long time UND fans. 8 Quote

Wilkie must be scoring a bunch in practice because you know Swanson is going to be paired with a pure shooter Quote
Esoteric Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Interesting. Here is a thought and if it is worth discussing. In looking at the first year status of the Augustana team, it seems like the coaches have a plan for future growth and recruiting. There are players from diverse areas and it would seem part of that is a plan to establish various locations and contacts for future recruiting. 2 Quote
brianvf Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Shouldn’t be long term, Berry said it was just for precautionary measures. He’s the only player being held out. Quote
cowboys5xsbs Posted October 5 Posted October 5 It's good to be back. I missed hockey. No excuses this year with the talent we have all around. 1 Quote

tnt Posted October 5 Posted October 5 I think with the rule change of the center getting kicked out of the circle again, I like that we have a lot of wingers that can and have taken faceoffs. 2 Quote
