Well, here we go again! Another season is upon us.

Looking forward to seeing the incoming freshmen.

The Drive for 9 begins again.

May the team's final result on the ice this year match the rhetoric from the coach.

My guess for the lines on Saturday:

Kunz-Berg-Perron
Swanson-Omac-James
Boisvert-Wilkie-Croal
Strinden-Jammer-Schmaltz
Littler-Andrew-Monty

Zmolek-Livananvage
Emery-Weibe
McDonald-Strathman/Jubeville/Komzak

TJ
Hobie
Cheese

I know it looks like we won't have a traditional "4th line" if Jammer and Schmaltz anchor it but I don't want to see Strinden on it! He has earned more opportunity then that. I would love to see a James-Strinden-Perron line but I don't think it's happening with the abundance of centers this year. Strinden will most likely have to play wing.

Definitely gonna be some tough lineup decisions to be made each week. On the plus, our third and fourth lines are going to be a MASSIVE strength and advantage over our opponents in most games.

#fullsixty?  Or #culture?

A culture of full-60 .. for a full season, with no more 10-min disappearing acts in the playoffs. Let's start there. : )

Different reasons for failure in different seasons, of course, but still think that the main glitch with this team the last 8+ years is that they were mentally peaking too soon, more so than just having bad luck. Good news is that Berry seems to have finally realized this & is putting more focus on a national championship, not treating the Penrose like it's the Holy Grail. Kudos to him for his insight & willingness to grow, not easy for an old dog his age to change course. Sometimes all it takes is a tiny change in perspective like this to make a big difference & put a team over the top.

Really looking forward to seeing the boys back on the ice, but loving that my 10 year old son is absolutely pumped for the season to start. Sharing that makes it even better!

That being said .... its a football weekend .... Friday night will just get my sport appetite started for the weekend .... Saturday is the big game! Then hopefully the Vikes can wrap it up for me. Am I really asking for too much here?

There's a chance the three players who were held out of Tuesday's controlled scrimmage could be back for Saturday's exhibition.

UND coach Brad Berry said at Wednesday's press conference, "I think there's a high likelihood," that Ben Strinden, Bennett Zmolek and Hobie Hedquist will be available against the Vikings.

"It was just kind of precautionary yesterday," Berry said, "not wanting to put them in a situation where maybe it was too soon."

Yeah these are looking great. Hope they can get some chemistry with these. Wilkie must be scoring a bunch in practice because you know Swanson is going to be paired with a pure shooter

Interesting.  Here is a thought and if it is worth discussing.  In looking at the first year status of the Augustana team, it seems like the coaches have a plan for future growth and recruiting.  There are players from diverse areas and it would seem part of that is a plan to establish various locations and contacts for future recruiting.

Surprised a little that Littler beat out Croal for the last 4th-line spot.

Ahhh…so good to look at a line chart again. Roll five.

I think with the rule change of the center getting kicked out of the circle again, I like that we have a lot of wingers that can and have taken faceoffs.
